I remember when JPII came to St. Louis. That was crazy. Good luck getting around town today.

Anyone heard from Rhonda lately?

I'm wondering what happened to LaPrincesa and the interview too. Kimmy, did you know her?

Oh, and Kimmy.....no Lauren for Kashi? What name is he leaning towards?

Thanks JG,

You mean goodluck getting around for the entire week. He's having service at the new Washington Nationals stadium on Thursday and that's a few blocks away from my job. Ugh...

I wanted to know what happened with LaPrincesa too.... She logged on but never sent any posts, so I hope she's ok.

I hope they are better names than what mr jengles was leaning towards when i was pregnant with Jenelle. He was into those traditional jamaican names, that to me sounds good when they are attached to an older woman.

JG, I just checked her profile and her hubby's visa was approved according to her signature and she has her wedding scheduled for June 7th in Miami. Her hubby is arriving thru JFK 5/5.

Hey everyone!

I am so sorry for not posting the good news!!! I came back from the interview and have been SO busy. I am in the first year of law school and exams are next week, so when I came back I began the study schedule and have not been posting or really reading anything.

I appreciate all the help everyone gave us and I love VJ! No worries I will be back to post and be part of my yardie family after April 30 (when my finals end). Again, I am so sorry everyone, I did not mean to leave everyone in the dark.

I miss everyone and law school sucks :bonk: don't go! LoL!

xoxo,

LaPrincesa

PS: How long does it take to get the visa? Was planning a May arrival too soon? Thanks ;)

Mawning My wonderful VJ Family,

Welcome back Jengy (& Missa Jengy-)!!! Congrats to Minfey and Fam! Ok, I have alot of reading to do! Ken, I & the family, had a VERY busy weekend. We took the boys to the movies, helped my cousin moved, went to my son's hockey, soccer, & track games and I finally took Ken out dancing in Brooklyn on Sunday night (music was great...but Ken was not impressed wid the security pon top of security, no smoking in the club rules...etc.-he now understands why we (Americans or Farriner's) have such a good time when we go down to JA.) But it was ALL good!

He met a few more of my cousins, (who I am very close with and was very nervous about cause they are so important to me) another Aunt & Uncle and they all LOVED him!! Ken actually busted his hump helping my cousin and her hubby move this weekend and they really appreciated his help!

I come from a VERY CLOSE knit family and they are tough on new applicants trying to get in ...they couldn't stand my ex...but they all LOVED Ken!!!!! :D Don't get me wrong whether they liked him or not...I wouldn't be backing down from our marriage. Ken's my ONE...he's that 'once in a lifetime' love we all read about! But, it just makes life so much easier when they all get along. Trust me...I learned that from Marriage #1!

Life is good! I am so very blessed to have him, and him, me... ;) Life has been so much better since he arrived for EVERYONE!! I get to sleep in late, cause he makes Breakfast and takes care of the boys! He has started helping my Dad (who IMO has a hording problem ) start cleaning out our basement and other hiding holes around the house!

The one issue I have found is my pace. I don't know if anyone else had this problem when their SO first got here. But I have been a single Mom for 7-8 years now...so I am use to doing things at my pace and being ready and having my kids ready... when I'm ready (which is usually quick fast!). Now, I have to adjust to working at other persons pace and being patient cause his pace is not as fast as mine. I was PMSing last week and blew-up at Ken cause I was waiting on him. I apologized profusely and explained the issue I was having. We talked it out and he is trying to speed up is pace and I am learning to slow mine and 'TRY' to give us more time to do what we have to do to be out!

Other than that all is well...seriously REALLY WELL :D:D ! I'm following JG's lead and think putting this stuff out there b/c it may help someone else learn from my mistakes and I may get some good tips on how to better handle this situation next time!

Have Bless-ed day Family...now let me get back to my 'catch-up' reading!

Gill

P.S.- Who had their interview again today? Well, good luck to you both and you are in my prayers!!

I can't remember but i remember cringing a lot...his mother's name is Winsome...I dare someone to think of a more Jamaican name than that. lol

Gill - I used to think mr jenges slowed down the more I speeded up. and I hear you, when u have a routine going it's hard to break out, but if u remember everyone in j.a. soon come u will be fine. I hear u about the help. I can go back to being on time for work now and leaving earlier. I can't wait.

Morning, all! I am home from work today sick :( I went in yesterday and went to the clinic (my company is great - we have a medical clinic right in the building) - The dr. sent me home! Hopefully this will go away soon!

Sending prayers out to Tonya on the interview today, and congrats LaPrincessa, that's great news!

I know we have discussed the cell phone situation once our SO arrive - but have any of you had issues with them still in JA? I am about ready to kill DJ over the phone, lol - First, his phone was a piece of ####### that you couldn't hear on - so he bought a new one. Then that one died - so we went about two weeks with him calling me when he could borrow a phone to put his SIM card in - I about killed him, so he finally bought a new one. He had it 3 days, and dropped it in a bucket of concrete while he was working! So, it sounds like there is something rattling or as if you are talking in a wind tunnel. I swear, I don't get it - I have had the same cell for 2 years now!

Yes, we hear this over and over again. They are very rough on cell phones. Andre's had this one for almost 2 years now and it's about on it's last leg. He said he never had one for more then 6 months before, though. Baby steps.........

Gilly.....That issue you are having will come and go. I agree with Jengs, that sometimes he seems like they rebel against you so that when you speed up, they slow down. I've found Andre has picked up his pace quite a bit. He's forever telling me to hurry up or he needs something immediately when before it was all soon come. There are other things that he seems incredibly slow at and I've learned to ignore just deal with. A few examples would be the dishes sitting in the sink for days when he's off and I'm working both jobs. I just leave them there now. If I was home, I would do them immediately. Second....his clean clothes piling up on the kid's beds because he hates to put them away. I hate them laying all around. I give him a few days, making sure to include at least one he is off. If they are still there after, I open his closet, toss them in, and close the door. He's way too slow at driving; but that one, I'm kind of thankful for. He has managed to be on time to work....something I thought I'd never see!!!!
