awwwh..Im soo happy for you. I remember when I got mine, I was at work, doing home health at the time, in the office, on a weekend, when the message came in. I was in tears, this other nurse,(just she and I) sitting next to me was like what's the matter. I was crying and at the same time saying, "I'm so happy" she was like do you need a hug? All I could say was yes, there wasn't anyone else around. Prgress is such a wonderful feeling. :luv:

I called Andre crying. Then, I ran through the offices crying and shouting. I'm sure these priests thought WTH did we get ourselves into when we hired this lunatic. Then, I immediately went to the JA message board I was on at the time and shouted it out to anyone who would listen. That thread was just brought up again recently and my one friend commented how she remembered crying over my news and that it seemed just like yesterday.

It is a day that will be etched in your happy memory bank forever!

Agreed!

Me too.Finished another paper, now I have to exercise and get some more sleep for the night shift. Have a blessed evening.

I understand the spoken word and can speak a lot of it back; but can't read it properly for the life of me.

You do very well too JG! I seriously give ya'll credit...I don't know if I would even bother if i weren't raised around it! My sister (in DC) can't speak it ATALL!!!! As long as you speak VERY slowly she can understand you. I used to go to Jamaica every summer and she used to go to UK...so I guess that's how I really learned it! My parents never really spoke it in the home (except when my Mom was VEX...then WATCH OUT!!!)

Even when Ken gets excited sometimes I have to tell him to SLOW down...now wat yuh saying???

So some serious kudos goes out to everyone that gives it an 'E' for effort in my book!

I told Ken I want us to speak it in the house so our kids learn it. Mi doan want none of dem Yardie cousins fi chat bad bout dem han dem nuh knoa hit! ;)

Gill

i would agree with that...i want Kayla to know words and things like that...it is part of her and needs to know....

Our next neighbor girls already can speak it because of hubby. Its crazy.. . I have only spoke patios once to hubbies friend and they start laughing didn't think I could do it. I just don't feel comfortable speaking cause a girl at school would go to the schools and try to speak in the Jamaican accent and patios and we would all laugh so hard. We had to tell her to cut it out. I just understand the language but refuse to speak it. :). After 10 years I should be able to understand.

***UPDATE***

Suh Ken jus call mi...he went BACK inna town (MoBay) this morning fi deal wid the license ting...AGAIN!! So he went on Tuesday, Wednesday & today!

So, I faxed his flight confirmation and he showed it to the ooman dat we paid to tek care of this ting! What does she say!!?

Oh, we not gonna ave enough time fi git it!!! She is gonna give him his $$ back (she better dyam well do so!) You HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!

So, I told Ken in the future when I tell you to do something PLEASE DO IT!! Guys, I asked Ken in Feb of 2007 fi tek care of this, then in May, August (we got into a BIG fight...nothing after that) til February!

I have to let it go now...and I will but... it just so dyam frustrating! He could have been here THIS WEEK!!! But we were waiting on the BLINKING drivers license!

So when he gets here we have to start from scratch! When em rass haffi cyatch bus han train inna deh mikkle of summer/winter...I DON'T WANT TO HEAR A WORD!!!!!!:angry:

Just ridiculous!

Thanks for letting me vent,

Gill

Gill, in the whole scheme of things, this is a very minor set back.

Wait till he tells you he studied and studied the driver's manuel and knows EVERYTHING there is to know and that it's the computer's fault he didn't pass it the 3 times he took it. So, you quiz him and you realize he couldn't have possibly studied as much as he said he did!!!!!

Some things they just have to learn on their own! Don't worry yourself anymore.

I just made hubby drive me around and I taught him. This was the hardest thing cause he thought he knew everything. He study really hard for the test and was mad that he missed one question. We have lots of country roads out here so that helped and not a lot of police around in the middle of no where. I did not have to quiz him at all. Like Jomo said its a minor set back. You can also pick up a permit if he wants to drive around to get the hang of things. :star: :star:

***update on my cousin's ex fiance

That dumb A$$ got married March 16th at the Ritz Carlton in Mobay. I'm wondering how long he knew this woman.

Oh! Damn. Dumb a$$ is an under-statement. Man, I hope they find his a$$ out. Your cousin lucked up big time, and this other poor woman. Damn, just sad.

Browinin, she thank God everyday. The woman he married, according to his cousin, is someone he met in January at Pelican in Mobay. He also has two woman pregnant one in Jamaica and the other in New York and I'm 100% sure the one he just married don't know about either of them. His day will come.

well Lawny, where would be the first place you'd take her? Da ####### is asking for a child to file for her. "Desperado" "Sorry, no disrespect Gill" I would have said when he's able to pay and fill out the paperwork without anyone's help.... Then again, I would have stared at her for about five mins and then just turned around and left.

Even if she were a 'KICK-A$$' Mom...I wouldn't mind...but she is just OUT THERE!!! Last week KJ was sick as a dawg...vomitting and the runs...she called Ken fi come git em pickney. Ken boil hup some bush tea...give em some soup han next day KJ was back to his old run around self!! Now C'MON as a Mom...or even human being...yuh doan knoa fi do dat! that is the ish that scares me. What happens when Ken comes here!

Sick Chick!!!

My Boys...

Gav's in the Brown Shirt...Jordie's got the fingers up and KJ is in Ken's lap!

Beautiful family Gill :star:

DITTO! Gill your sons are adorable!

Congrats Lawny and Sunny!
