My dad, his sister in Orlando and my mom's mother is the only person I know can make it right. Kimmy you are right...frying dumpling is an ART. I've tried several times, but my dad say I got to put my FOOT in it (WHATEVER). I tell him to give me the receipe, he say WHAT RECEIPE and just laugh.

We didn't get the cute little apartment around the corner from my boys school...they didn't want kids. Plus, the lady renting the room not too far from me...has changed her mind about renting it...because someone threathened to tell the town unless she gave it to him!

Because it's illegal to rent rooms in Nassau County...this guy she was showing another room to...threatened to call the County Housing department and report her if she didn't give him Ken's room! So, she just saod 'f' it to renting ALL the rooms...so now we are back at SQUARE ONE!!!

Whatever, I KNOW I will find something! It's just a PITA...cause I can't book Ken's flight til I have a place for him to come to!

Plus, Ken called his Aunt in the Bronx to ask them if they knew of anywhere he could stay or rent han wat dem tell em...check deh internet!!!!! WOW...that is just SOOOO phockin HELPFUL!!!! :angry:...dyam foolishness!!

Damn...that statement hurt my feelings and I don't even know them. I tell you, FAMILY will be the quickest people to bring you down. You know what's going to happen to them Gill, when Kens gets here and gets situated in a year or so down the line dem ago what help from im...what how the table ago turn. Marcel aunt in Queens is still demanding he come live there and that Maryland is too close to DC where there is a lot of killings everyday (so she say). I told her it don't matter where you live something is always going to happen. And that she don't know anything about me and my family. Girl, mi no wah fi cuss her again, but I"m close to doing so.

Well, Queens isn't HOLLYWOOD by far. Why would she make a comment like that when it's just ablt the same in NY period. People are so quick to make assumptions and she probably has never stepped her foot outside of NY. People kill me.... Love negativity and never has anything positive to say.

Posting this early because I won't have access to a computer. My dads whole family (all 40 something of us) are staying at a hotel tonight to celebrate family. They have traveled from as far a Japan! My Grandmother is in stage 4 of lung and bone cancer and she wanted one last full weekend of partying while she is strong enough. Last night she hosted a dinner for all of us and it was a blast! I love being able to see everyone. And my Grandmother is a huge inspiration to me, she is in her late 70's and has the most postive attitude about her situation. She still volunteers at her church daily.

I wish everyone a great Easter and my prayers go out to each and everyone of us. We are all dealing with our own struggles but I have faith that we will overcome them! Because we have the support of each other!

I make a mean fried dumpling. You have to just know how much baking powder and sal tto add, It is an art. When I add the rawbdumpling to the pot, I turn the stove down low and continunously turn the dumplings until they get a golden brown color. I don't let the color change too fast. My family always complain cause I take my time to let them "soak" as they fry. When the fire is too high, they cook on the outside and the inside does not get any heat to cook.

Thanks for that curry goat receipe. I will def try it an I think I'm just gonna get a slow cooker cause the pressure cookser seems like a hassle. what do you ladies think...should i buy a pressure cooker or slow cooker?

I have some goat to cook and am planning to try to slow cooker since I will be at work all day today and tomorrow. Figured I would let it slow cook and when I get home just throw it on the stove top to finish up. At least the meat should be tender by then. Last weekend I cooked some bef soup in the slow cooker and it turned out real good. The food (potato, cho-cho, yam, co-co) did not cook too soft and mash out, them I transferred it to the regular pot and bring it to a boil on the stove-top. Turned out better that I thought. I eat it three times last week and I don't even like left-overs.
