Hi everyone,

I would like to thank everyone again for welcoming me to this board a month ago when I joined. I haven't been on much due to being extremely busy at work and trying to put together my K1 petition, oh yea and when I'm not doing that, I'm always sleeping :) I'm almost done with the application and I'm planning to send it early next week, just waiting on the G-325A from my SO and I have to take my passport pic.

Anyway, wanted to say congrats to the ladies who got approved! must be a big relief to say the least. I've just caught up with the last few pages and saw the two reports on the embassy experience, now I'm a little worried and was hoping to get some clarification:

1) I was told the fiancee was not required to be with the SO at the interview. I'm thinking if we get lucky enough, and lets say my SO gets an interview when I'm in my third trimester and really pregnant and can't travel to go to the interview with him, will this be held against him? If the interview is some time after I give birth, I def. plan to be there.

2) The G325A form asks for employment history for last 5 years. My SO was attending UWI until this last semester when he was forced to take a leave cause he couldn't afford tuition, when he did work during this time, it was doing odd jobs and not on the books. He just recently was able to get a legit job. Will this be held against him? Should I put that he was a student in that section, or leave it blank?

3)I've gathered pretty much all of the evidence that we have to prove our relationship including pictures, emails, phone records, and travel itineraries. The problem is when I flew there to see him I did not keep the boarding passes  I was thinking of copying the stamps on my passport and putting it together with the email confirmations that I received when I booked my airfare online. Is this enough proof of travel? I don't have prove of hotel receipts b/c my SO paid for the hotel when I visited.

4)Finally, how do I put together all that information? in a binder with tabs? scrapbook?

Thanks!

ps: sorry for the long post.

Welcome back my girl. No need to worry about the long post. We are here for help and support and a long post maight be the only way to make us understand your situation. Ok, mi have one topic....

Why do you think it is that there are large concentrations of one or the other gender marrying certain nationalities???

Ie, with American/Jamaican marriages, the WOMAN is most often AMERICAN same for MENA and African marriages, in Russian/American marriages, the MAN is most often American and the same for Filipino/American relationships.....

You know I have thought about this a lot and haven't really come to a good conclusion. I know they discuss this all the time in the MENA and Russia forum and have quite a varying degree of what they thing contributes to such a vast difference in certain genders seeking other nationalities. Not sure what I think about it all...I am going to have to think on this more.

i think american men go after filipino women because they have a stereotype of being very biddable, meaning they are willing to let the men run things and and the women run the house.

men want russian women because they are viewed as being very pretty...almost exotic...

plus it is more sociable exceptable for a male to come home with a flipino wife and russian wife vvs the other way around.

With that it's every man and pickney for themself cause mi go back to bed :hehe:

boy u been sleeping a lot nowadays, u sure is just sick u sick?

I only know 2 such women, from VJ, and I didn't get that impression from them. They were pretty vocal around their men.

Mawning Fams,

I just thought of something for those filing after me!

Make sure you have a copy of your original petition. Make a copy and send it to your SO. That's where they get MAJORITY of their questions from...duh! I didn't realize that until I keep seeing the same pattern of questions being asked over and over again.

Also if you haven't filed yet. Make your description of how you met as brief and concise as possible. The more details you give them...the more questions they can ask! I only wrote a paragraph of how we met (because I was too dyam lazy & annoyed fuh go inna more details at the time). But it worked out for the best in the end!

For those of you that have interviews coming up...GET YOUR 2007 tax returns!! If you have those for whatever reason they are pleased! You DO NOT have to have the transcripts for 2007...just the return. Nuff people went up with 2006 and they seemed annoyed...some people even got a blue slip to come back when they have them!

Hmmmmm...I think that's it!

Bless, Gill

P.S.- How is everyone tiddeh?

Hey Gill....Welcome Back!

Thanks for the info about the interview process....you shoulda seen the Post I made last week while u were away.....I think I'm taking TOO much info, actually.....

Congrats!

Hey Chica,

Thanks...you probably are...but better to be safe than sorry! They didn't ask mi for NADA...no bank statement, no employment letter(s), cell phone bills...Ken had to ask her if she wanted to see pictures...NOPE! They know if you are for real...or not! Mi seh carrying around dat big heavy file folder and dem just want what they want!

Go wid halla tings dem hennyweh, Sweets! You'll be fine!

Bless,Gill

Thanks Gill! LOL

I just pictured me walking around with all my folders stuffed down in my tote bag all for nothing and all I could do was just laugh.....Either way, I'll still drag the binder down there....just in case

I only know one filipino woman (not from VJ) married to this doctor I work with and she seems pretty outgoing and vocal too?.....Might not be the norm but I got the impression she feels pretty comfortable interacting with all of us from work but then again, I only know that one example ;)

For real  He worked there for a couple years and then transfered to Sandals Montego Bay. So he didn't work there before he came up. We have been together so long that was just one of his gigs at one time. ;)

Does it matter if you owe taxes every year? What exactly is it that they want to see? Alos, is there a certain amount of money you should have in your bank account? I only plan on providing information on one of my bank accounts, but was wondering if I need to provide information on all three. This of course is whenever I get to this point. Just curious....

Y

ou have to have that at your wedding....tradition!

yes.gif Mannish water is sooooo yummy!

Welcome back Rhonda!!! luv.gif

Hope you start feeling better D heart.gif

Yuk!! Mannish wata smells good, but oh no the things floating around in it... no0pb.gif

Yuck Mannish eww. Hubby and I were so disappointed. The soup was served cold too. Luckily the villa chef made me pumpkin soup for the rehearsal dinner that night. She we asked for jerk pork and chicken and we didnt get that either bummer. We got brown stewed chicken and roast pork. We can do that in the states I guess thats why we were disappointed. Hubby says he is going straight to the Pork Pit when he gets back and he is going to gain lots of weight he misses the food. He told me he would never miss the food once he came up and I laughed when he told me he could survive on Mac and cheese and tuna fish sandwiches.
