Thanks for all the trade info Kim, Jengles and JG :)

I am not sure if we have a union and all that good stuff. I will pass on the info and let him look into it. I know we have a tech/trade school that he looked in to but it wouldn't really work to go to school and work FT for him. Thanks again for the info.

I think I should've been a carpenter. I always loved the beauty of a nice piece of woodwork....furniture, flooring, etc.

I have to say then, that chest is beautiful.

A always talked about getting into a trade. He is working in manufacturing making doors presently. How can someone get into a trade? Do you have to go to trade school or can you apprentice your way in?

it's really good..if he can get into union and they pay him to work while learn and 5yrs he can take his journeyman tests..dats the road we're heading down now...it's just the luck of the draw ...who gets picked 1st kinda thing..the bigger ur city the worse chance..but since yuh live a bush u have a good chance  ..no but i'm serious

That's the way I know it as well. My ex-husband was a plumber and his employer paid for his 4 yrs of schooling while he was apprentcing for him. He subsequently bought the business from him last year. And I live in the "bush" too - LOL!

At my old house, I had salmon colored walls and hard wood. I LOVED that look.
