In the first post you said your husband was going to buy you a plane ticket but you wanted to check your legal status first. Now you say you don't even have gas money to go for a 2 hours drive and that nobody is working. Then again you say that your husband is buddies with all of the local Senators and Congressmen. Also the test for liver compatability does not have to be done in Italy. This technology is available in the US.

I think you are homesick and you miss your Mom. I understand that. I don't understand this story.

I want to thank everybody for the prayers and the help. You are the best people.

I would like to make an infopass but we don't have money for gas to go all way to Cleveland (which is 2 hours away driving). I finished all of my money so Michael did. He can't find a job and God knows how bad I'd like to go back. I am stuck right here. I can't work because Immigration won't let me until they know when, so i can't find money for the ticket or money to keep on going with my life. When I called the custoer service they told me I cannot do the CR1 now because I have already started my AOS and I have a K3 visa already. I don't think I need AP because I can actually leave the country without it bein on a K3 visa, but I cannot stay very long. Even if they give me an extention (I wish!!) it won't last months. I also asked the lady to give an idea, what I can do. She was like :Do you know any senator/representative? They might help you out. My husband knows a few representative because he is an Iraq Veteran and on the memorial Day they always come right here. He met them 2 years ago during the memorial day in 2004 during his leaving time from the Army. I can try to write them an email and see what they can do to help me out. What do you think about this? Should we try?

I've been here a long time. I have seen a lot of sad stories. Many of them were not true. I am sorry if you were offended by my skepticism. I really hope that I am right, and not you. I would prefer for the poor womans sake that this story is a dream.

I also apologize to the OP. Perhaps this is a true story.

SJoefl01, with all due respect... if you have nothing supportive to post, I would advise not posting at all. If I was going through this situation and someone cast repeated doubts upon the veracity of what I was saying, it would be very insulting and this is already stressful enough. I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful, but you've questioned several posts of a similar nature in a manner that tends to be a bit inflammatory.

To the original poster: an Infopass appointment armed with what information/evidence you have on hand is probably the way to go. If money is an issue, I'm not sure what sort of support you might be able to find from your local community? If you belong to a church or cultural organization, they sometimes maintain a pool of funds for precisely this reason. Alternately, is it possible to look to arrange transportation from a family friend to get there?

A congressperson or senator will probably, at the very least, be able to provide information about what options are available or they can act as a liaison if you need extra 'push.' Plenty of VJers reported contacting their offices for help when things were delayed, in limbo, or apparently messed up with no good reason. I cannot imagine that they would not be willing to extend support at this time.

Denali not only you are a very ignorant person, but also very rude. I am surprised you didn't know that you can actually donate a portion of the liver....where have you been living all this time? Keep your opinion to yourself. If you relaly want to know I am not homesick, probably you are. I am probably "momworried" because my mom is dying if you can actually read english (which i doubt ). I don't think you need a degree in medicine to know these kind of things. Kathryn, I really appreciate your explanation. At least soomeone knows what I am talking about. Denali, why don't you go do a search before you talk next time? Maybe can enrich your culture....maybe....just don't jump to conclusion and insult people who are already suffering enough with your ignorant opinions that nobody cares about (read: ME). But I am not going to stay here arguing with a "I - know- everything" person. One more thing: my husband was going to buy a ticket with borrowed money. I hope you will experience the same situation someday sjoefl01

We tried to search on the internet about emergency numbers you can call for Immigration problems. I dont remember who told us, but maybe there's a number for emergencies. Where do you think i can find it? This is rediculous: the closest office is cleveland I wish i had lived somewhere else. We wrote the email to the representative already and since there are the elections on may 2nd he might help us out even more. Hopefully there are people tomorrow in the office, maybe I'll be lucky this time :(

Thanks everyone for your support I have no idea how much you are helping us

My heart goes out to you. Take care of your Mom and solve the other problems as they come. I agree that you can probably get an emergency AP or possibly file for CR1 in Italy. It is also good advice to make an infopass, if possible to learn your options.

There is one thing that I don't understand though. You have 2 kidneys so it is not unusual for a family member to donate a kidney but you only have one liver. I don't think a living person can donate a liver. I have only heard of liver transplants from people that were declared brain dead. Are you sure you have correct information about the medical facts pertaining to your Moms illness?

My brother had liver cancer and one thing I learned from his battle is that the liver can regenerate itself.....so only part of a mathcing liver is needed for the transplant.....that being said, it is still risky to both parties...

I would try for the AP....just my .02cents worth today.

Yes you can donate I think a quarter of your liver - might even be half and both peices 'grow back' so both people end up with one whole liver.

The OP did state that she cannot get tests done in the US as she has no medical insurance..so thats why she has to return home to get it done.

I really hope you can sort it out and your mom gets better hon..what a terrible worry for you all :(

Emergency AP would seem the way to go - hopefully they can give you the time you will need..or offer a sensible alternative

Maria,

Is there no-one who can take you/lend you money to get to an infopass appt, this is your best chance of finding a solution immigration will accept. You could try your husbands contacts too but I still think infopass is your best chance.

If you can't do this, then in your shoes I would just abandon and go back to help my mum. Hard decision but you have to live with the results of the choice you make - to me that would leave me with no choice but to head home fast.

My thoughts are with you and your poor mum. (F)

Whatever is the case, I hope it all works out. I would suggest finding money to travel to Cleveland for the info-pass be it with friends, bus, your car or something. After your appointment, you will know your options.

Best of Luck

She wants me to get a GC and go to college; but how can I do it, knowing that she needs my help?

So did you marry a USC out of true love or for a GC? Your mother's well-being should take precedence over anything, including your AOS application, or so I would think. It's funny how right after AOS submissal you have to leave your household.
