How do you go about translating birthreccords for Egypt that they will take. Does it need to be stamped by some official? Who does that? What other things do you need translated? Police records? college transcript? Is there some official translator in Egypt? Or do you translate it yourself and take it to the embassy to stamp it that it says that?

Hey! We needed an english translated copy of his arabic birth certificate too bcz it is needed for Adjustment of Status... www.***removed*** told me that when translated it had to be translated by someone other than the hubby/fiance and had to be signed by the person translating it that they are fluent in both languages and that the translation is accurate... I had a Syrian friend from here do the translation paper... then we both went to UPS store and my friend signed it and they Notarized it for me... -Tam

You have to have Birth Certificate, Police Reocrd, Military Record, Vaccination Record, and College Transcripts. All are needed for AOS except the college transcripts....those or for if he wants to go back to school here.

Hope this helps!!

The instructions for Morocco was that as long as it was in the native language then no translation was necessary. However we felt it would be better to have it done anyway. There were places in Morocco that did it for much less money than it is to do it here. I think it is worth the extra effort to have it done in their country, and in advance. Better safe than sorry. Oh yes, have serveral of both the marriage license and birth certificate. They are always useful even after they come to the US. People here prefer originals not copies.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
