Just a heads up...

We moved on Jan 1 and immediately filed AR-11 and changed our address on all our case #'s online and confirmed over the phone. Everything was fine, and even our IO told us that our new address was on our file.

So imagine my surprise today when my old neighbor calls me to let me know my wife has a letter from USCIS at our old apartment! This would explain why yesterday I recieved our I130 approval notice at our new place, but no I485 notice. I'll bet you guys that letter at our old plae is our 485 approval notice! I'll find out tonight when I go over there.

So I called USCIS and explained that we got confirmation #'s for our change of addresses and AR-11 and that our IO said it was changed, and they pretty much told me sometimes it takes longer to change the address. Of course, why the 130 was changed immediately and the 485 still isnt even though our IO said it was is beyond me.

She told me in so many words that my wife's Green Card will probably be mailed to the old address and if it isnt there in 30 days to call them. They cant change the address on an approved case. So now I have to time out the green card mailed online update with when it will get to my old place and hope to God my neighbor gets it and lets me know

Sorry, just had to vent. I haaaaaaaaate the USCIS help line.

That's just messed up. Good luck! I hope they send your GC to the right address or, if it's sent to the old one, your good neighbor will be the one to receive it.

I changed address a week ago using the online AR11, the next day all three case numbers were touched.

the old address is my mother-in-law's house, though, so not an issue if anything goes to the wrong place.

I got the email from CRIS saying AOS card production ordered the same day we closed on our new house. I immediately called the stupid line and the lady said if I file AR-11 then my green card would be delivered to our new address.

LUCKILY our lease on the old apt isn't up until the end of March, so I kept the keys so I could still check the mail just in case. Imagine my surprise when I went back 9 days after calling USCIS and filing AR-11 to find my green card and welcome notice in the mailbox! I'm just glad I was able to go back and check the mail, because I'm sure the apartment people wouldn't have forwarded it to us.

Actually I wasn't that surprised, I kind of expected it. Is there any way I can check that my address change has gone through WITHOUT calling them? I honestly don't think they know what they're talking about.
