Sorry, I didn't realize you were Lindsay! :P

How frustrating is that, not getting your interview date back? I heard that Vancouver was super fast. The website says that it's taking them 8 days to give interview dates for the K visas! Hopefully it will come soon!

I'm really hoping not to be the only one there as well. It's a lot easier if there's someone else there to take the stress down a notch. I'm really hoping that my fiance will be there with me! My fingers are crossed!

As soon as I send my checklist back in I'm going to go pay my visa fee as well.

Have you had your medical yet? Did you book it?

i called the medical center the day i got my package. I had to leave a msg

but they called back later that day and talked to my grandma, and said that when i had my interview date to call back and ask for Laura, and she would arrange it around the date.

In my msg i said that i have to have travel time taken into consideration, cause i am busing it (by choice) its about 21.5 hrs

I did my entire package 3 in one day

its kind of easy when you live in a tiny little town, but i still had to walk everywhere.

and the bank lady took 40 min to figure out how to do my deposit.

i will definitly be doing the interview alone

are you living in van?

I'm actually in Edmonton! I was just going to ask where you are!

I can't wait to just finish with Packet 3 and get that done. I'm going to fill out my DS-230 today and get that over and done with. I actually have a question about that one though. I should figure out where to post so I can get an answer! :P

It's too bad that he won't be there for your interview. I'm not sure that my man will be there either, but our fingers are crossed that he can get the time off! It's a plus that he's a travel agent so it makes things a tiny bit easier!

I hope that the ladies at the bank can figure out my deposit a little bit faster than that! I work crazy hours and I'm not sure I've got 40 minutes! ~giggles~ I suppose if that's how long it takes, that's how long it takes right?! I'll just need to make sure that I get there early.

I'm actually thinking of phoning the doc here and trying to make an appointment now. It will probably end up being the same situation as you're in though! I'll have to wait until I've got the interview. Plus, I'm pretty sure that here it takes 5 days for the results!

OMG tell me about it! I know EXACTLY how you feel! I can't wait for this to be over and to actually be down there with my baby. That's home to me. I come to work every day wanting to quit. If it wasn't for the fact that I've got bills that I need to pay, I would have finished here a long time ago. I'm almost ready to work somewhere like a fast food restaurant but it won't pay enough to pay my bills. ~sighs~

I heard this was the fast part of the process. It feels like this is taking the longest. That's probably because it's so close to being finished!

I was prepared for 6-12 months for the visa, so this is a little bit faster than we expected. At the beginning though, before we realized that we needed a visa, I thought I would be down there last October, married and everything already! What a nice pipe dream! :P

Hang in there. I know you hate hearing the word soon, so do I, but that's the only one to describe it! It will all be over very soon!

AnewKINDofFEELIN- Yeah I totally understand that! Plane tickets are not cheap! Like I said, the only reason my SO will come is because he gets tickets at a quarter of their regular price! Even then, nothing is guaranteed if he can't get time off of work!

Well, whatever happens, if Lindsay and I get our interview dates together, I'll be there for her! :D

We applied in March '07 and just had out interview feb '08 in Montreal...we were told the same thing, 6 months. Then 11 months later...........we were finally approved. The one bonus was that i had no problems crossing the border so I was able to come and visit for a few months.

I know how hard the waiting can be, and this post isn't to discourage you...it's just encouraging a bit of patience, and if that doesn't work, you can always have your fiancee call his congressman and ask for his help!

Keep smiling, you'll make it through this!

because if they didn't make you wait...it would be too easy. I swear they're sadists...they like to watch us suffer. Show no emotion...do not let them win.

I told my fiance the other day that they made it hard just to see if we REALLY wanted it. And then I realized that what I'd said was actually true and it made me sad. :crying:

I can't remember exactly the time frame from NVC sending my application to Vancouver, but I think it was about a week or so. Then after I faxed back package 3 to Vancouver, I believe it was about 10 days or so before I heard when my interview was scheduled. Did you just put down the first available date? I had requested a date two months from when I sent the package back, so I got what I wanted. I would suspect you'd get a letter very soon about your interview date! They were scheduling interview dates around a month from the date the package 3 was returned. As it's already been more than a week, I'd be guessing it might be more like a month from the time they send the interview date letter to you. Now, some people have not gotten their interview letter. So if you haven't heard anything in another week, I'd send Vancouver an email...making sure you have your case numer in the subject line...and ask when your interview is going to be.

Best of luck in hearing something soon!

OK.... so we are July07 filers, and I still dont have my interview date

we are going through Vancouver

i faxed back the checklist and form last tuesday

and i am at the point of tears if something doesnt happen soon.

I think we are destin to hit every waitlist and backlog the USC has ever had

I really dont know what to do.... How long did other Vancouver people have to wait for their interview date?

When i received my packet 3 in jan, i faxed it back the next day and i emailed them to confirm they received it.. then i went ahead and asked for the interview date to be given to me via E-Mail because "i needed to make travel arrangements" and they gave me my interview date in the reply.. simple and easy.

btw, my interview was in Vancouver too.. its easy dont worry about it :)
