That's a great picture.

If you like beaches and you do visit Key West, Fort Zachary Taylor has a great one.

We went early in the day and were the only ones there.

Ok I am not good at naming titles but basically I can't wait to show my husband all I can of the US, but I don't know what to do first, etc.

Would you rather go somewhere you've already been with him/her or experience something entirely new? For example, I've been to Disney about 10 times in my life, but it's high on his list of things to see since he's heard about Mickey since he was a kiddo. :luv: It'd rock to go with him for a few days BUT I've never seen the Grand Canyon...or anything west of DC for that matter.

What were your priorities after they settled in?

Venda Ravioli,in Federal Hill.

April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.

The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver

March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !

June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

Well, first I wanted him to see our city. Of course, Busch Stadium was tops on my list. I said "you are going to spend a lot of time there!".

We've gone to Chicago. Jamaican doesn't have many 90 story buildings. And he swore Lake Michigan was the ocean.

Washington D.C. and the White House, Capital, and monuments last year. He said the White House was small.

Las Vegas, California, and Florida on the list.

Our priorites were getting him settled and employed, so we haven't done a lot of in-U.S. travel yet. He's seen my hometown, where we live now, and a few places he's traveled with work.

Most of the stuff we want to see is stuff independent of a welcome-to-America tour.

I've already seen San Francisco and the Redwood forests which were a priority for me...Alex would like to take me to Seattle and we'll probably both go to New York at some point...other than that he says it's up to me. He's far less interested in travelling places than I am.

I'm partial to Siesta Key. But the goal is to see as many or few as she wants! I also like the idea of the panhandle and parks you've suggested and for my benefit too. We did a lot of traveling to Florida throughout my life but always ended up in Tampa Bay, Sarasota, or Ft. Myers due to family living there.

My fiancée wants to see Florida, as in the beaches, not the Orlando area rip-offs.

I recommend the panhandle. If you go to Panama City, they have great beaches, a wonderful state park (St. Andrews), and you can drive about 20 minutes to a BEAUTIFUL spring, Morrison Springs.

Bridget, how are you? We have had a similar wait time, and honestly I was so happy nearing the interview when I dreamt of all the places I would take my husband. I now have stopped that because even the last call to dos was "case pending." But I do believe in Allah and his timing, it is certainly better than mine! So as I read your post I just want to say that you brought be back into a mind frame that I got out of after the 5th month of AP. Can we dream again? Yes we can! The more time that passes, the closer we are to getting the visa.

I want to take him to the places that I love first, the little chinese restaurant I have not been to in the promise that I would only go with him, my favorite movie theater, and the beaches.

Next, I would like to go to New York, Los Vegas, and florida for short vacations and finally a longer one in Hawaii. I would like to see this world that Allah has created for us, with my husband. This is our wish, every one of us who are waiting. I don't tell him that on the phone anymore though, there is a silence when I bring up anything about the US, I wish I knew what was happenning. I understand 1-4 months but these cases that go over 6 months, I really believe there is a good ending soon.

Most of all, I just want to have a quiet evening, just to sit and refresh our minds from these surreal months and years. These months have taught me to be a good human being, wife, and servant of Allah. I just wish I could dream of places to go with him without having a choked up feeling.

Insha-Allah, our case will be cleared soon.

My prayers are with us.

Tammy

Tammy I know exactly how you feel hon!!!! I normally don't do this daydreaming about where I want to go but I got a glimmer of hope from my congressman after over 7 months of AP so I'm starting to think about these things again. I'm sure I'll slide back into the depths of despair in a month or two when he's still not by my side but for now this feels good. :luv:

So...........I want to see Las Vegas and the grand canyon. He wants to see Las Vegas and has never heard of the Grand Canyon. lol. I told him Las Vegas might not be the best place for him since 1) there's strippers, 2) there's gambling and 3) there's a whole lotta drinkin' so maybe one day and he said, "maybe we make it three days". I realized the other day that one of his favorite shows is CSI so ding ding ding I now understand why he wants to go there. lol. I think it would be cool to stay at the Luxor since neither of us ever made it to Luxor, Egypt and maybe they'd give us an upgrade since he's Egyptian. :innocent:

This tour looks like it gets good reviews too so this will be a definite, though I don't know why they really play up the breakfast at McDonalds! :unsure:http://www.grand-adventures.com/canyonwalkingtour.html

Could go on for awhile. List is in no particular order. Some of the places are easy weekend/3-4 day trips. The more expensive far away and outside US trips are more complicated and need the green card.

Settling in, meeting friends/family, helping her adjust, and just spending time together finally is what I hope to enjoy first, but I would love to be able to show her all these places and more.
