Do we have any members from the Tampa bay, FL area here?

Am getting sick of the Tampa ASC center's slowness in processing bio-metrics appointment. I remember getting stonewalled during my Citizenship efforts and now its a repeat!!

If you are from the Tampa area, Please post your timeline here..

Sent AOS package on Feb 06th.

Awaiting Bio-metrics appointment - xx/xx/2008

This time last year, they were actually fast.

Chicago rec'd AOS package - 03/02/07

Biometrics notice received - about a week after

Interview appointment notice received about 2 days after biometrics appt notice (I thought it was a joke)

Biometrics appt - 04/11/07

Interview - 04/26/07

Green card received - 1st week of May 2007

We weren't the only ones ... a lot of people with the same bio appt days had interviews the same day.

However, I hated the ASC. They..ugh. Were busy yelling at each other about breakfast, taking 1 person every half hour.

Just got back from biometrics Tampa. I had to wait more than 1 hour, there were tooooooo many people with the same appointment time. And there were slow, way tooooo slow. I just thought - OMG, there were like about 50 people in 1 hour, thats about 400 people/day, thats about 100 000 immigrant a year in only 1 USCIS centre, ok ok, maybe not that much, some people go twice, 3 times...so its "only" 50 000 people in 1 year for Tampa area. Now i hope for EAD approval coz I hate being at home and working hard in the garden all day every day, i want to meet new people, make friends.

Uh, we waited over 3 hours for my husband to get processed at ASC.

I have been to the Tampa office 3-4 times in the past...I would say most often they are not helpful...

I went in since I never received my bio-metrics appoinment and wanted to make sure the case was still pending or being processed or not lost.. I got the standard reply nothing what I wanted to hear nor got any info as to why the Tampa office was slow when compared to almost all the other offices....

Has anyone tried doing an infopass in Tampa and if so what for and how receptive were they ?

Are they helpful how long did it take and also did it make anything happen ?

I think M's was valid for 2 years and said TEMPORARY in red letters over his little picture.

However, he had had a license that expired already and had overstayed his tourist visa, so I'm not sure if they do that for everyone or what. :)

We have been waiting for my husband's GC since March of 07....over a year now!!!!

you need to make an InfoPass appointment and find out why no green card.

your application date is way, way past due for completion.

don't fool around, make an InfoPass appointment.

also, call USCIS from your home phone.

We had the bio-metrics appointment today..

Our appointment was at 11am but we showed up around 9.50am and the room was packed already and our number wasn't called until 11.10am and it took about another 20-30 min for the FP process & taking your photo and we were out at 11.35am..

Tampa is darn slow...plan to arrive at least an hour or two before your appointment..

There is plenty of free-parking around the building and no cell phones allowed inside...

I'm in the St Pete area. Once I had my NOA, i went and applied for a new DL. It is valid for one year and has TEMPORARY on it. I had a previous license that had expired and didn't have to re-take the test, thankfully.

Yeah, Tampa seems pretty slow at sending out interview letters, but i've noticed that some of the people who applied recently are being transferred to California. I never applied for EAD, so you should receive it within the 90 days.
