when i had a private practice..i napped ....nice to sit in a darken office and snooze

I can recall one instance (many years ago) where my dad fell asleep in his office. He locked the door so the cleaning staff wouldn't come in to bother him. It turned out that my mother decided to stop by to surprise him and when she knocked on his office door, there was no answer. She thought that was odd, since she knew he'd be there -- he would've finished seeing patients only a little while ago.

So she knocked again and still no answer. Now she got worried and knocked harder. For a brief moment, I believe the thought of infidelity popped into her head, since the door was locked (and he never did that normally) and my dad's staff was all female. But my dad apparently woke up, unlocked the door and greeted my mom. He was just tired and needed a short nap.

As someone who worked it a nuclear power plant back in the 80s, I beg to differ. You try sitting on a chair for 12 hours doing nothing but watching a hole in the ground. Not a person comes by and the only noise is the hum of the plant. You are not allowed to do anything to stimulate your brain.

They're sleepy because they don't take their jobs seriously!

Instant termination if caught. Obviously, there is always the remote possibility a NRC inspector could walk by. Further you would have to find a place to conceal those items. The supervisor would not allow you to leave the office with those items in hand. They would only have to remain in your personal locker for use on lunch break.
