I am pretty sure it doesnt matter where you enter just as long as you enter within 6 months of receiving ur visa.

Yes it is up to you where you fly into. But if you have a route that gives you options you may want to read through here and find POE threads, as some are tougher than others. Atlanta for instance has a very bad rep for giving grief, Chicago O'Hare on the other hand is seen as good.

There is also one POE in NY that sometimes gives the temporary EAD to work immediately for 3 months or you can ask for it, from memory I think it is JFK (someone will know for sure here). No other airports in the country give this EAD, so if you need to work ASAP worth considering.

True, I got my temporary EAD stamp on the back of my I-94 card without even asking and didn't even realized that until a month after.

Not sure if it is true, but I have heard that JFK is the only POE that issues Employment Authorization, if that's what is important to you. Otherwise, you can use any POE

POE is where you enter the U.S. It looks like you visit San Diego, so if you take a direct flight from Toronto, your POE is San Diego.

Toronto has customs pre-clearance for US flights. So in this case, your POE is Toronto.

I don't think it really matters where your POE is. I mean you have the visa so they have to let you in (unless they find a reasonable explanation for not doing so). My POE war Charlotte, NC (final destination was Houston, TX) and after having trouble there with entering on a VW for five days I had no problem at all when I entered with my K1 several months later. don't worry. I think your experience there depends a lot on wheter the immi officer had a good coffee in the morning or not . You don't have to enter the US according to a certain pattern. IF your final destination is San Diego and you want to stop in...lets say....Atlanta, just go for it and do so. It really doesn't matter, a POE is a POE. Good luck and don't worry too much about it.

Enrico is coming through Detroit. we are hoping they are good to us considering he forgot to turn his I-94 form in when he left. we sent it to Kentucky with evidence so they can record it but it still scares me alittle! He will have copies of everything he sent with him so I think he will be okay but you never know.If anyone has any experience with this PLEASE let me know your story thanks!
