hi everyone :), as i talked with many vjs menbers the last few days some of them told me that when they were filling for the I-130 they sent some extra documentation and they said that they think it made it easier for them to get an approval, an example of these various documentation r : diplomas obtained by their spouses , documents from specialised authorities proving their ability to speak and write english fluently, police certification showing that they hav no problem with law,

does any one hav an idea about this ??? do u think it can give a little push to our case if we send them????

You dont need diplomas or proof that you can speak english. What you need are proof that your marriage is real.

I included notarized affidavits from people who attended my wedding. I also included a bank statement showing our joint account.

hi there thanks alot for ur replay :) can u plz tell me more about the joint account ???????

My wife and I opened a bank account together in Philippines. It was a joint account with her name and mine on it. We included a statement from that account. That's all.

If you have a lease in both your names, that would be good too. Like I said, what USCIS wants are proof that the marriage is real.

Yeah, I think they are more worried about knowing that your marriage is authentic and that your spouse won't be a burden to society than knowing her qualifications.

Maybe bringing this things to the interview at the consulate could be interesting, though. I hear they like it when you are able to do the interview in english, even.

We are including:

affidavits (sworn letters) from his family and a few friends in Jordan

copies of phone bills

copies of emails

copies of letters between us

a translated copy of our lease from the apt we stayed in while i was there: it was a short stay, but I am including everything possible! :)

Pictures of us together and with the family

a few chat logs- showing we communicate daily

We thought about opening a bank account together, but figured it would be of no use.. we arent in the same country, so that just would look like i was supporting him in his home country (not a good thing, imo) but thats just my opinion

I hope this helps :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
