What the #### is wrong with teenagers??

Investigators say a bloody attack on a rural East Texas family's home may have resulted from family opposition to a daughter's boyfriend.

Rains County Sheriff department confirmed Sunday a 16-year-old girl is one of four suspects being held for the violent murders of her mother and two brothers.

The girl, whose name is being withheld due to her age, is the girlfriend of one of the suspects, investigators revealed. Neighbors told MyFOXDFW.com that the girl's parents, Terry and Penny Caffey, were trying to break up the couple.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

This story does not represent a majority of teenagers. Nor is it representative of a minority of teenagers. It's an extremely harrowing account of something that happened to one family. Terrible of course, but not the basis of a 'teenagers are out of control' shock horror drama side show.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well there seem to be a lot of these isolated incidents. A quick google search shows quite a number of cases popping up just in the past few weeks let alone going back a number of years. Would you also say the same thing about kids shooting up schools etc?

I don't remember this sort of stuff occurring as frequently in the 80's. No?

1) Its a big country. Of 300,000,000 people.

2) If you're in your early 30's, you probably wouldn't have been watching so much news... Its not like murder was a recent invention - The Manson family anyone?

Does your infinite logic also apply overseas? Maybe you can show me similar cases in AUS..

Why would I? I wasn't replying to your post - but Ph's. Suggest you ask her about that. But its not like you haven't used broadbrush terms in relation to stories like this before...

You seem to be in every other thread so of course you would.

Did you have the same access to 'news' in the 80's? I certainly didn't, I read newspapers and listened to the radio for the most part, and it wasn't tabloid senstationalized to gain maximum 'outrage' factor. Nasty crimes have always happened perpetrated by all ages. The common denominators are losing control of rational thought due to exaserbating circumstances or underlying mental disorder. I am not aware that the incidence rates of mental illness changes drastically from decade to decade but I am sure someone has some figures. Crimes of passion aren't that common either, not statistically because they are normally a result of continuous abuse of some discription which isn't something that happens systematically to that many people without them seeking some kind of help. Of course, those that are trapped in a situation and become hopeless are those who end up behaving in this way.

Ahh Can't see where I said "it does not occur overseas" but if you want to get smart and get technical can you show me a recent similar case in AUS????

What the #### is wrong with teenagers? That sentance means that you think there is something wrong with teenagers as a group - majority or significant minority.

A simple google search seems to suggest otherwise.

Actually it could mean anything.

What it does mean is that there is a noticeable increase in violent crimes by youths. The two recent schools massacres seem to back this view, NO???

That's why they don't have English majors doing research in medicine, or engineering. They have no logic. :innocent:

Hmmm...

I blame the parents, but, not to the point of murder!
