What is up with the embassy phone?!

I keep trying to call the Embassy and it wont let me input any numbers. Asks me if I know the extension to press 7. I do but it keeps continuing. Hang up try different phone, same thing. Try using a phone card or directly calling, same thing. Finally I press 7 and it tells me to put the extension followed by #. So I do that and it keeps saying "when you are finished with the extension press #" and I keep pressing it. Is this a temporary problem with their phone or should I just stop trying to call and wasting money trying to connect.

Man their phone really messed up today. I try calling again and dial the extension. Rings not even once and says the person is on the phone, so I dial 0 like in the guide, rings once and says person on the phone. It has rang 4 times like it says in the guide the other times I called.

and do u know that they dont want us to call directly in the Immigrant unit now? they want us to call in their call centers..

Yup just got through and they told me the new procedure. We have to call the call center and set up the appointment date. And they said the earliest is May so far. But have to wait until Mar 14th to call.

The interview is as early as MAY and we cannot call until March 14th?

This is new? I did not know that we have to set up an interview, I thought this is done on a received date on the USEM.
