Holy #######. I can't believe he even attempted that landing. Lucky he didn't kill anyone. He did a pretty good job, though.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

I am TERRIFIED of flying. That literally made me sick to watch....

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

I saw an interview with an airline pilot on this. He said the pilot was wrong in even trying to land with a cross wind like that and to top it off he didn't preform the maneuver correctly to try it anyway. He said everyone on that plane was lucky they didn't get killed.

A long time ago we had an almost similar experience as we were trying to land at the Frankfurt airport. There was a storm at that time and as we were making our approach the head winds were too much that the pilot decided to abort the landing and went back up for another try. It was very scary as we were already so close to the ground that we could see the runway lights when he decided to go back up.

Actually headwinds are a good thing when landing. It's the crosswinds that make it tricky. The first time I soloed I had too much crosswind (I thought) but my instructor said, "go ahead, you can do it". It was a little rough. :o

Doing a pretty good job and being lucky not to kill people seem to be contradictory.

There's a saying in aviation circles: A superior pilot uses his superior judgement to avoid situations where he would have to demonstrate his superior skill.

It's very hard to judge the amount of risk by just looking at a video -- I certainly can't say how close he came to disaster, or whether he should have aborted the approach earlier. I used to fly small planes, and I'm just glad nobody was filming all of my attempted crosswind landings. Some were pretty ugly.

This is the landing you don't need to experience. The pilot pulled this out, though. This plane eventually landed safely in Hamburg, Germany.

Scary!

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
