Well - I called the DOS again today. Our papers are no longer in Homeland Security (papers had been there since August). Representative from DOS said that our papers have been sent to another department and are in Washington, DC. She could give me nothing else. She did say to expect a 4-6 month wait for any results. Has anyone had this happend to them that their papers were sent to another dept after Homeland Security? We thought for sure we'd hear something on our papers soon.

We just had our 2nd wedding anniversary and still no results on the visa.

I email the emabassy weekly and am told the same answer - we are in Adminsitrative Processing and we will be notified once it's done.

I call the DOS weekly and am told the minimum that they can say.

I call the embassy and am told we are on AP.

I've written 3 letters to senator and the last response I received is we are on AP and don't contact them for 3 months, then I can contact them again to see if anythings changed.

Any words of wisdom that can be passed on to us? Any other ideas?

Long before you posted this, God had placed you and Aj1 on my heart of offer up special prayers for you both today. Now I understand why He did that.

May God grant you resolve to this mess soon!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I know you are in a hard place right now. I think AP is the worst part of the process, the one part you have no gauge to use to determine when this part of the journey will end. I hope you are able to keep your relationship strong, and maybe go for a visit. :luv:

I'm sure that nothing can really console you right now...However, my wishes are for you to have a speedy resolution to this AP. It truly is the height of unfairness that you have been waiting so long...

Is there any way you can go and see your husband right now?

A visit to reconnect may help give you both the fortitude to endure more waiting.

TIna

Oh Allah, what is happenning? Yes I have heard of papers going from different agencies after washington/fbi, thats why half of the time DOS cannot tell you how long the checks will take because they themselves do not have it. Through the help of God, i was able to learn that what happens is that usually the case is cleared and then sent to the embassy, these checks take around a month to complete, then it goes to the embassy and thats where we get these additional checks - its then that we get more checks ordered, and for which agency we don't know

really it has been a very long time, how common is his name? Pls pm me if I may know some details if you dont want to share it publicly, I dont mean the MENA forum or VJ i mean just anonymous members, etc. Do you have a significant age difference? husband traveled to many places? any problems or doubts expressed at the interview? I have been trying to find some pattern to all this - because I see its not just the country anymore, I understand 6-8 months is long but its usually for these "terrible countries" (T-7/T-26) but there are people here on VJ from egypt, pakistan, morocco that have gotten then visas within 3 months. Please do NOT let negative thoughts drown you, it is so easy to fall into depression over this. Tears seem useless at times. Pray with all your heart. Actually you cannot take anything literally, that 3-4 months was a safe estimate, don't let it discourage you, the fact the the agencies are extrernal of washington/FBI shows they have no knowledge of timeframe of those checks either. Nagi suddenly had the word from God to pray for you, I am praying for you, and we all are with you on this, its really a pain we can understand. You must not let these estimates be solid - wait it out a little more, your husband could get his visa in hand any day, much earlier than their projected time. I think by now they performed many checks and are on their last few ones.

Allah knows best

Also you know that there are signs, such as Nagishkaw's message, that there is coming upon you, a good day in the near future

Tammy
