DHL TRACKING

I just got off the phone with DHL asking why my number doesn't work. She couldn't tell for sure but said that the way mine is set up it cannot be delivered until a certain date, though she doesn't see what the date is.

I think maybe the embassy has a new tracking system in conjunction with DHL. Some of our hospitals set up something similar a few years back where a claim can "never" get lost since each person who touches it has to scan it and each file has like a code that is scannible. I think it's great that they set this up since hopefully that means people will get realistic responses as far as what is going on with their case now AND it shows that they're making efforts to improve the process.

I had 2 more DHL tracking hits today. YEA KEEP WORKING ON OUR CASE !!!!!!!!!! The pickup date is still March 3rd so it is still there, but at least that means they are working on it today. I love those DHL notification emails. I cant wait till it shows its shipped out of the embassy.

I just had 2 more hits, so that is 4 today. The first 3 said in event category processed at DHL Facility Cairo, the last one said DEPART FACILITY Cairo. So did it leave???? The pick up date is still the same, but the event says DEPART FACILITY?

WOW!!! I am glad this is helping everyone keep tabs on their visa a little better. I just wish mine owuld say processed and departed. Maybe Soon. Congrats MyHeartWillGoOn. I am so happy for you.

I hope you start getting hits. IF you go to the online DHL worldwide tracking it is a couple hours ahead of the emails. So if you start getting hits go there and look.

Just found this old thread when searching through VJ... I can't find an option on the DHL site anymore to track by email, maybe it's not an option anymore? Our tracking number on the website says Depart Facility now, as of yesterday, but the Pick Up date is the same. I called DHL in the US, she said it says that DHL contacted the receiver to arrange pickup. Ahmed called DHL in Cairo and they said that it's still inside the Embassy. All I know is I am all sorts of disappointed.

when i went to DHL to send my passport to the embassy . I asked them about the updates '' the hits'' I asked them if it means anything ?!!!!

they said in fact no it does not mean anything it just means that the DHL is ready and waiting to send the passport .So everytime you see ''Scheduled for delivery as agreed'' it means the DHL is waiting for the passport to send it to you .

Also, we seen lots of touches to ours right before it was sent out. But the day it was sent out nothing was touched! Until after my husband received it and it had his name for signing it on there and date and time of delivery. I honestly, wouldn't sit and rely on this.

I don't understand what the touches are? This tracking number isn't even showing up in the US system anymore, just in Egypt's... are you talking about the times when it says "Delivery planned as agreed" or whatever it is? That's all I've seen so far, and it seems like it's just DHL's system updating itself every three days or so. Maybe there used to be some system in place for this that isn't there anymore?

they could have it either immediately following the interview, if the CO kept it after the interview, or sometimes (in Egypt, maybe in other places too) they have you send the passport in later, after more of their administrative processing is complete.

Alright, we just dug out all of the DHL receipts and there's something I don't understand: seven "movements" after the Embassy reiceived the packet and before his interview date. What's up with that? Anybody know?

I never understood what the "movements" people were talking about related to DHL. When we checked the site after the interview, all we ever got was "Scheduled for delivery as agreed" every few days, which DHL said was just the system updating itself. We didn't get any real movement until the package was out the door to be delivered.
