New information: Columbia is reporting that they have evidence from computers seized that Chavez gave FARC $300M. This could explain why he was so quick to put his military on the Columbian border.

Evidence found in computers seized in a raid over the weekend suggests that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez recently gave the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia $300 million, Colombia's national police chief said Monday.

Ecuadoran soldiers board a helicopter Monday to Angostura, near the Colombian border.

FARC has fought to overthrow the Colombian government for 40 years.

Chavez had no immediate response to the allegations involving him.

Naranjo said other evidence in the computers suggests FARC purchased 50 kilograms of uranium this month.

Yeah, this seems to be a big news story down in Colombia from what the family says. Unfortunately, probable Word Documents on laptops that are miraculously untouched (just saw RCN) after the building their in is bombed by missiles is not very credible evidence, especially coming from the government of Alvaro Uribe. The amount in question is 300 million COP... about 150 thousand US.

Plus Mr. Uribe needs to be reminded about his job in Medellín as director of civil aeronautics during the free reign of Mr. Escobar and how so many planes carrying a certain product in demand up here got by (actually, I think ALL got by) during his watch.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Dirty bomb aside I truly believe the uranium claim goes right up there with Bush's Iraqi WMDs and uranium purchase order from Africa.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
