How about "Ay, Bay Bay!" by Hurricane Chris???

I love that song, but my 50 yr. old cousin hated it. Definite generation gap for ya. The lyrics made me laugh, but because of his age, he couldn't follow what Hurricane Chris was saying.

When I Holler Ay Bay Bay

I Finna Get My Groove On

Its So Hot Up In Da Club

Dat I Ain't Got No Shoes On

Im Holdin' Up A Big Stack And Dem

Hundreds In A Rubba Band

Girl Don't Ask Me For No Cash

Cause Im Not Dat Other Man

Everybody Trippin' Cause Im Limpin'

When Im Walkin' And Im Pimpin' When Im Talkin'

I Don't Trick On Chick Dats Talkin'

Dem Boyz In Da Back Dey Be Rollin'up Dey Doughdy

Then Dey Blow It Till Dey Chokin'

Dats Wat Godly Came Out

When I See A Bad Chik Im Hollerin Out(Ay Bay Bay)

I Hope Yall Ain't Wit Ya Boyfriendz

Cause I Don't Care Wat Dey Say

And I Don't Care Wat He Say Or She Say

Im In Da Dj Booth Takin' Pictures Wit Da Dj

You Wanna Know What We Say

When Clubs Get Crunk (Wat)

Ay Baybay Let it Play

Dats My Song Turn It Up [X2]

Would you be proud of writing such lyrics for a rap song?? What an intelligent song you've chosen. And I think you're wasting your zune player on any kind of trance. Trance? Really? I guess if you consider the computer a musical instrument.

what's wrong with trance or any other electronica genre?

I guess nothing's really wrong with it. Its just not my taste. Are we all talking about music we don't like?

I think it's good to keep in mind that not all music has to be deep and meaningful. I can't stand electronic music, but I do like hip hop. Sometimes you just want to have fun and let loose. I think everyone has their guilty pleasure music.

so you're saying electronica is a guilty pleasure? with no meaning? have you ever listened to ambient or organic house? there's electronica as deep and meaningful as classical music.. but have to say, the vengaboys or any commercial stuff definitely don't fall into that category

i'm a fan of hip hop, but old skool hardcore rap, like cypress hill.. not wannabe stuff like today's, although when ure @ the club, with a few 'dranks' as the song says lol, it's fun to dance to

Just not my cup of tea. Maybe it is meaningful, but not to me...I don't get it. I listen to classical music - I especially enjoy choral music and opera, but my husband doesn't get it at all. I'm not offended by that - music is obviously a personal thing and everyone has different tastes. That's all I really was saying...nothing groundbreaking.

opera is good.. i love it, i grew up listening to it.. my dad had weird musical tastes, well not weird, but very, varied.. one day we'd listen to creedence, janice joplin or the doors.. and next day, listen to rigoletto, carmen, or figaro

I don't like anything I'm "subjected" to...like my upstairs neighbours with their rap and R&B...wouldn't be bad if the stereo wasn't on the same wall as my bedroom and turned up at midnight...also, what's the deal with songs that sound exactly the same with different lyrics (i.e. reggaeton...); the kids in my neighborhood are going to be deaf playing it as loud in their cars as they are...I keep my music to myself, why can't they show the same courtesy?

Shame on you. Michael Bolton is a true American icon. Michael and David Hasselhoff are the two reasons that foreigners flock to the U.S. True American icon indeed.

i guess it depends on the quality of the genre.. there's good hip hop, theres bad one, there's good electronica, bad reggaeton, or bad pop music..

I have to put up with that same b.s. from my neighbor downstairs. He thinks it is ok to play his stereo as loud as he wants. Now, when I get up for work in the morning (usually by 4) I stomp around as loud as I can, dropping things on the floor etc. It probably wouldn't be so bad if he played halfway decent music.

Altime worst song, ever...Smuggler's Blues by Glen Frey!

Cheap Miami-Vice imitation video to boot!

2.jpg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZwu54S94-4

There's trouble on the streets tonight, I can feel it in my bones

I had a premonition, that he should not go alone

I knew the gun was loaded, but I didn't think he'd kill

Everything exploded and the blood began to spill

So baby, here's your ticket, put the suitcase in your hand

Here's a little money now, do it just the way we planned

You be cool for twenty hours and I'll pay you twenty grand

I'm sorry it went down like this,

And someone had to lose,

It's the nature of the business,

It's the smuggler's blues

Smuggler's blues

The sailors and pilots, the soldiers and the law,

The pay-offs and the rip-offs, and the things nobody saw

No matter if it's heroin, cocaine, or hash,

You've got to carry weapons 'cause you always carry cash

There's lots of shady characters, lots of dirty deals

Every name's an alias in case somebody squeals

It's the lure of easy money, it's got a very strong appeal

Perhaps you'd understand it better

Standin' in my shoes

It's the ultimate enticement,

It's the smuggler's blues

Smuggler's blues

See it in the headlines, you hear it every day

They say they're gonna stop it but it doesn't go away

They move it through Miami, sell it in L.A.

They hide it up in Telluride, I mean it's here to stay

It's propping up the governments in Columbia and Peru,

You ask any DEA man, he'll say, "There's nothin' we can do"

>From the office of the President, right down to me and you, me and you

It's a losing proposition,

But one you can't refuse

It's the politics of contraband,

It's the smuggler's blues

Smuggler's blues
