My wife got her K3 visa on Feb 22, and arrived in the US via LAX on Feb 23! Both I-130 & I-129F petitions had been approved on Jan 10 after over 8 months' wait. We had tried twice to obtain a visitor's visa earlier but were denied. On Feb 1, a week after the K3 visa petition arrived at the embassy, my wife picked up pkt 3. We had put together all the documents required already -- thanks to VJ members; all we needed was the medical exams. She got the first exam done that very day and the 2nd 6 days later. She was told by the embassy they would call her once they received the results of her med exam from the physician. Waited for a week. I called the embassy to inquire about the progress of the application on Feb 15; they told me she should return the documents. She did a few hours later. She was advised to return on Feb 20; little did we know that she would be interviewed then. A miracle happened! Interview was very short and easy; visa was approved right away & was ready 2 days later.

Without the support and invaluable advice from VJ members, this portion of the journey would have been intolerable. We thank you all very much. For those still waiting at different stages, we wish you well. There is a God who loves you, cares for you, and has a great plan for your life. His timing is the best.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

06/02/08- DS-3032 sent & AOS Bill Generated

06/05/08- Paid AOS Bill online

06/16/08- DS-3032 email accepted by NVC

08/28/08- Case completed!

10/21/08- Interview date (Rescheduled by US Embassy- Original date 10/28)-PASSED!!!

10/22/08- Visa in hand!

10/31/08- POE- Seattle, WA

11/12/08- Received SSN in mail!

11/20/08- Got my WA driving license!

I-751

08/03/10- I-751 sent

08/09/10- NOA

08/24/10- Biometrics

10/28/10- Case approved

Our timeline:

September 29, 2005.......met online.

October and November 2006......was in Egypt with my sweetie.

November 1, 2006......We were married.

December 2006........I-130 filed

January 2007...........I-129 filed

April 2007................I-130 and I-129 approved

June 14, 2007.........Visa interview completed

December 2, 2007.....Home interview

February 12, 2008........Second interview

February 26, 2008....I was called by the embassy and was given a short interview over the phone and was told that my case will be moved forward and someone would contact my husband soon to send in his passport.

March 2, 2008......My husband was contacted by the embassy to send in his passport.

March 3, 2008......Passport sent by DHL.

March 4, 2008......Embassy received the passport.

March 18, 2008......VISA IN HAND!!! YEAH!!

August 15, 2008....filed I-485 adjustment of Status and I-765...Employment Authorization

October 14, 2008.....I-765...Employment Authorization approved, card received 1 month later.

January 15, 2009......Adjustment of Status interview for green card...approved!!! Received green card two weeks later.
