Hello to all:

My fiancee has her appointment on April 1, 2008. She lives in Bogota and I know that once one is approved for the visa the embassy keeps the passaport and they send it back via courrier (domesa). I called domesa and they informed me that it takes about 10 business days for her to get the passaport back. I will be going to Bogota on April 5th to come back together. Does any one know how can we do to get the passapot back from the embassy in 2 or 3 days? Can she just go to the embassy and pick it up or it is mandatory to have it delivered? We are planning to travel back to the US on April 8th but if it takes that many days we would have to change our flight  . Please :help:

Thanks for any info!!!

Hey JC, There's no pick up at the embassy, only via Domesa. However, it shouldn't take so long if she already lives in Bogota. From what I've heard, it only takes 2-3 days to get her passport back, so hopefully, you guys won't have to change your itinerary.

She could ask though once she's there, who knows, they may tell her to pick it up later in the day.

also, see if you can pay at the embassy for the service, then ask to pick up the passports at the Domesa office in bogota. the day they arew delivered to the Domesa office.

we used to be able to pick up the passport th3e next day at the embassy, but now they are using domesa.
