I'm soooo excited you have the chance to go back to Egypt again!! I went with Wael to our first initial interview as we were married in Egypt and had a DCF. Our interview went very well. The CO interviewed me first asking if I had e-mails, any pictures, names of his family members, where were we living ( I had been in Egypt for 4 months), how long did we know each other, did we share household chores, and what was his favorite food!! There was never any mention of our ages.

Try to organize your e-mails, pics, etc, for each of you to have when you are called. That makes it more organized and you are ready when called!!

I was interviewed first, then he called Wael to the window. Our total interview lasted about 20 mins. CO was extremely nice which helped us to be more relaxed with his questions. We were approved the same day.

Good luck and have a great flight and enjoy your trip!! We miss Egypt soooo much. You will DO FINE!!!

Hi Faith!

I am SO excited for you, Egypt is a place I never get sick of visiting!! I didnt attend Ashraf's interview and as you know we got our visa pretty quickly(thank God), but I certainly don't think going to the interview would hurt. Just be prepared to wait. Ashraf waited something like 5 or 6 hours in line... so maybe even bring snacks and water!! LOL Don't worry about your age gap-- we had 9 years and it didn't seem to matter. Like I have told you before, I think you two have a strong case and a long history together and I think that helps..... try to relax and enjoy the time with your sweety and inshaallah he will be here with you very soon. How long are you staying in Egypt? Have a safe and blessed trip and I will be saying many prayers for you both on the BIG day!!

Big hugs to you both!!

Hi Laura..

thank you. I will be there 8 days. Its a shorter visit for us. We are preparing for our visa in hand day...and will be in hurry for me to go back to bring him home. thank you for the prayers...we are not worried about approval...its the long ap time so many seem to get. Was Ashraf out of the country before? Had a prior visa??

Good morning Faith!!

I am so excited for you and your trip and your interview!!! And to be able to go back to bring him home-- that is wonderful! I would love to be able to travel with Ashraf here! Just think of the memories you will make!!! Ashraf has never been out of the country, so has never flown before so he is a little nervous about that!! LOL Also no prior visa. Again, I really think it will be fine based on the length of your relationship and all of your supporting evidence. Whether or not you go to the interview is a personal choice, do what makes you feel comfortable. If you dont go maybe have your sweety show your passport, that you are there with him to support him, but he didnt want you to be uncomfortable during the long wait time for the interview. God bless you both!

good luck!!!

You won't be standing outside for a long time. There is a long line outside but that's for a different type of visa. YOu'll be let right in and brought to a waiting area and you have the option of waiting in or outside, though the outside part is covered so it's not like you're sitting in the sun the whole time...and you're sitting, not standing. For us it didn't make a diff as you know since the interviewer never showed up and when he went the following week for the makeup one he was alone. They didn't even make a record of the fact that I went there for the interview the first time since they were apparently suprised when my congressman mentioned it.

Anyways that's me, this is you and I wish you all the best of luck and have a GREAT TRIP!!!

ps. i am 7 yrs older than my husband but so far it's not been mentioned at all.

Hi Laura...

We had an extra month in AP at NVC before heading to Cairo. There was a name hit they had to clear....does anyone think this will help?? that its cleared?? or hurt..that we even HAD one...??:blink: We are so excited...we have a plan A, plan B, plan C, and so on...lol...im queen of back up. He will have my passport AND my drivers lisence as the passport copies i sent originally i didnt cover. I since converted and now cover...and it shows in both passport and license.

It is encouraging Laura that you have age gap, and Ashraf had no prior visas. its soo speculative why some wait..and why some dont..but good to hear someone similar got a fast visa. We can only hope and pray in Allah's kindness and mercy. Amr has not worked...not able to find productive employment and we were a bit naive. We really thought the noa2 would take 1-2 months in vermont NOT 6 months...so we waited...we hated to have him start something only to have to end it so soon. So we run an online business together...and he works with me in that..but nothing we can PROVE is HIS. in a way..im hoping that with no work history (he took additional courses..but wasn't enrolled full time in uni), they have nothing more to investigate...his studies was communications engineering...im also hoping that isn't considered high risk to entice more name checks....ohhhh how did you all get through this??? wondering?? waiting?? hoping?? and then some WAITING MORE???

Bridget...you are so kind and i've always found encouragment from you and many others here....sometimes...its scarey to see what you all have to go through to get your loves here...and its scarey to see that up front...you are some of the strongest people i know and wow....even with differences of opinions and spats..there is a connection...

thank you to all for everything...im honored to be part of this with you all.......

thank you to all....

Is it possible to take TO much??? I have a 2 inch binder with evidence..and still need to include stuff HE has there....(mailings and small things mostly) I have no room in it to add our original petition pages or packet 3 copies with our originals...and have 2 photo albums....wow...never know our last year could fit into ONE binder...LOL...and even thats not ALL...sooooooo much stuff...and i KNOW they wont LOOK at it willingly.

Anyone had success showing evidence AS they answer the questions???

Faith while your in Egypt I think it would be good if you meet his family. And get pic's of that also. It was inportant to the officer that I met his family and that they approved. Even if you met in a restarant and got some photo's

We will try...but I come with one day before interview. In shaa Allah we can. If not..I have plenty of phone records to his home phone where I called his HOME. And mailings i mailed to his HOME over time. Im hoping that they understand this. And hope its different from k3 to k1. With k3 you are married...and maybe being married and never meeting the family can be more of an issue...who knows...I just hope they dont ask...seems sometimes they do..sometimes they doint....

does anyone think they really go through our file sooooooooooooooo closely before an interview?? or do you think they review it briefly and just ask random questions....I mean...how much time do they have in any one given day...to even review these files and work hard on them??? or pay them much attention??? seems to me by thte time they interview all day long..they have little time...
