I though this was interesting to post. I know some have contacted the Ombudsman office. Here is my experience.

Me – E-mailing "PublicAffairs, CISOmbudsman"

Subject: Possible K-3 Cancellation

There has been many rumors about the K-3 being cancelled. I read in the transcript in your website that you have inquired. I am currently processing the K-3 and am very concerned. Have you learned anything since this issue was brought up?

"PublicAffairs, CISOmbudsman" - Me

Subject: RE: Possible K-3 Cancellation

Thank you for your email and we are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are having with the USCIS. On January 31, we had a public teleconference entitled “The K3 Visa Family Unification Process: How Is It Working for You?” The question you raise was asked during the teleconference (see Question #2) and is posted on our website at www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman. We have asked USCIS this question and will post the answer as soon as we have it.

In the meantime, if you would like us to research your specific case problem, please visit our website for information on how to submit a case problem using DHS Form 7001 at www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman . For privacy reasons, we require written consent before we can research the case.

Thank you,

Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

How long does it take USCIS to give an answer since it was almost 30 days ago?

"PublicAffairs, CISOmbudsman"

Subject: RE: Possible K-3 Cancellation

You raise a very important question and concern. For the past many teleconferences it has taken USCIS an extremely long time to respond and many questions remain unanswered. We are now working to establish more concrete timeframes to get these important questions answered in a timely fashion. Please sign up on our website to receive email notifications of when our site is updated.

Thank you again,

Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

I noticed that the questions are posted but no answers. This is useless because I already know the questions, I need to know the answer.

How long have you been waiting for USCIS to answer these questions in a timely fashion?

Ombudsman

noun ( pl. -men)

An official appointed to investigate individuals' complaints against maladministration, esp. that of public authorities.[/color]

By definition, your office is appointed to investigate our complains against this maladministration. How can USCIS not give you a reply in a timely manner? How is it that the very office created for this purpose is ignored?

That's funny. I completely agree with you--what is the point of having a department handle questions and concerns if they can't get the people to answer the questions and concerns in a timely manner. That just creates more questions and concerns. Ironic.

They probably just did CTRL+V first.. hahaha.. but try some other people (not just ombudsman).. I had sent him two letters, but no contact so far.. Try sending to different senators and congressmen (not just your state) and also the presidential candidates.. McCain sent me a letter and looked in my case.. sent a letter stating that I had local office interview.. Obama did a good job too, sent a letter (2 days after) saying he will forward to my senator (was expecting this answer).. Hillary didn't even reply.. so booo on her... the others weren't that helpful either.. if not, the last resort is that all of them will forward to your senator and bug the hell of of him/her.. that works good too..
