Is this normal notification? What does this mean?

Hello everyone. Hope everyone having a wonderful day regardless some frustrating time for visa issues.

I have a question about case status. Currently my AOS and EAD have been processing by MSC center and today my husband and I are planning to go for Infopass to try about interim EAD. This morning, when I checked my case status on USCIS portfolio, I found EAD updated date has changed (which means "touched" right?). Then I realized on the bottom of the main portfolio page, I found the paragraph as below.

* Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email Notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

I havent recieved an email yet at this point but is this notice that everyone has on their portfolio? Is this normal? What it could be happening to my case? Thank you for your attention and I look forward to hear from you.. Thank you.

It usually just means someone is looking at your file, and looking at your timeline it's probably a good indication that the EAD will be approved shortly.

03.05.2009......I-130 received at Embassy

03.06.2009......Received Police Cert

03.18.2009......I-130 Approved

09.10.2009......Medical Exam

09.23.2009......Embassy receives Notice of Readiness

10.13.2009......Received our interview date

10.29.2009......Successful interview!

11.5.2009........Visa received in post

11.7.2009........All the family flew to the US together :)

12.20.2009......Received Welcome to America letter

12.24.2009......10 year Greencard received in the mail

Mand, Thank you so much for your quick reply:) I see. Sorry it may have been really a beginner question.. I would still go ahead and schedule an infopass appointment for next week to obtain an interim EAD. And if you get an e-mail notice that the EAD has been approved, then just cancel the infopass appointment and your card will be with you in a week or so.

And don't worry...we were all beginners here too!!

I have never seen a message that told you you were touched. Evidently they now have one. This is pretty cool. When we got touched on the EAD we got the card pretty quick. Hopefully you will have the same good fortune.

Thank you ,sjoefl01:) and thank you everyone. My husband and I just got home from Infopass here at Los Angeles. Regardless we had an appointment we had to wait 1hr40mins. (Infopass e-ticket is saying that you can come 15 mins early but it seems not the case) Then what we found out was, immigration officer told us that "O, your (EAD) card is on printing as of 25th of this month so it should be on your way this week or next week". also he said if we dont get it by the end of next week, we should check it online again etc. I brought all of my NOAs and I-765 form just in case but none of them were needed.So we are very glad to hear the news. Especially since I just had a surgery on Monday so within few weeks, I will recover and will have EAD and DL:) I am excited!! Thank you all for your advice always here.

Congratulations and it's good that you got the confirmation from the officer. You should get an email notification soon and the card will probably arive within a week.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail
