  1. 1. If you could time travel, what would you do? (you can select MORE THAN ONE answer)

    • Invent some "new" technology and become rich.
      9
    • Use your knowledge of what happens to bet on sports to win money.
      9
    • Use your knowlege of what happens to invest in stocks to gain money.
      14
    • Attempt to "right" wrongs that happened in the past.
      15
    • Seek revenge on those who hurt you before or stop them from ever doing it in the first place.
      9
    • Kill someone who you know will become a menace or threat at some point (i.e. Hitler)
      7
    • Prevent attacks from happenng (i.e. Pearl Harbor or 9/11)
      8
    • "Acquire" items from the past and sell them in mint condition on eBay.
      8
    • Watch major historical events play out as they happened in real life.
      19
    • Do something I didn't think of (please write down your answer)
      7
  2. 2. What do you think are some of the risks of time travel? (you can select MORE THAN ONE answer)

    • Harming your family line somehow (therefore never being born).
      18
    • Getting stuck in the past or dying there somehow.
      17
    • Accidentally being the cause of your own birth (or a family member's birth).
      13
    • Murdering someone important to history (whether on purpose or by accident).
      8
    • Ending up in some sort of disaster (i.e. earthquake, flood, tornado, etc).
      10
    • Some risk I didn't think of (please write down your answer)
      10
  3. 3. Is time travel even possible? (you may only select ONE answer)

    • Sure, why not? Just because we haven't invented the means to do it doesn't mean it's impossible.
      11
    • Possibly. There are all sorts of theories that both for and against time travel, so who knows?
      16
    • Absolutely not. Even if you weren't to take the "grandfather paradox" into consideration, according to the laws of physics it's scientifically impossible.
      9
    • I don't really care. If it can't be done, fine; if it can, it'll probably be a government-only operation, so I won't get to use it anyway.
      6
    • None of the above really suit me (please write down your answer)

Well, I don't know why I was thinking about this, but I was. Time travel has always interested me and so I've decided to make a poll based on it. Hopefully I've made enough options for everyone. If not, I'm sure someone will be more than happy enough to tell me. :P

I LOVE this subject! I read everything I can find about it, it's so fascinating! I wish there was a way to do it.

These two novels I like especially :

"The Time Traveller's Wife" written by Audrey Niffenegger

and a book written by a German author called Andreas Eschbach " The Jesus Video" . I'm not sure if this one has already been translated into English though. It is about this young guy who is helping out at a German archeological excavation in Israel when he finds a 2,000-year-old skeleton holding the instructions for a video camera dating from the year 2003. A great book! I also love reading about all this crazy theories how time travel might become possible one day.

If I could do it I'd travel back in time to kiss my parents and to tell them that I love them.

Well if it were possible to go back to my youth then I would have taken much more better care of my health. Money or Stock would not be as important to me now if I did not have my health!

It will never be done because if it can be done eventually we'd already know about it.

well, who would have thought 200 years ago that air travel would be possible one day...

No, she means someone would have come back from the future and told us that time travel is possible! :P

It is. I can also tell you who won the Superbowl in 2042, if you're interested.

The fact that we haven't heard about time travelers is not proof enough that time travel is not possible. Stephen Hawking himself actually brought forward the same argument and posed the question where all the time travelers are, if time travel should actually be possible. But there's a theory that gives a possible explanation to this particular problem:

"A proposed time-travel machine using a wormhole would (hypothetically) work something like this: A wormhole is created somehow. One end of the wormhole is accelerated to nearly the speed of light, perhaps with an advanced spaceship, and then brought back to the point of origin. Due to time dilation, the accelerated end of the wormhole has now experienced less subjective passage of time than the stationary end.

An object that goes into the stationary end would come out of the other end in the past relative to the time when it enters. One significant limitation of such a time machine is that it is only possible to go as far back in time as the initial creation of the machine; in essence, it is more of a path through time than it is a device that itself moves through time, and it would not allow the technology itself to be moved backwards in time.

This could provide an alternative explanation for Hawking's observation: a time machine will be built someday, but hasn't been built yet, so the tourists from the future can't reach this far back in time. "

Sounds adventurous...but like I said earlier: who would have thought 200 years ago that air travel would be possible one day? :)
