DS-230 Anyone have a PDF that can be edited & saved?

The State Dept's DS-230 cannot be saved to disk w/the form filled out which is ridiculous -- does anyone have one that can be?

The document is protected and permissions will not allow me to convert it to a .doc file. I can save a filled file because I have Adobe Acrobat. Reader will not let you save the filled file. I believe there are various share-ware programs that will allow you to print a .pdf to file but then you still cannot edit it at a later time. Acrobat is the only way I know of to solve this problem.

There may be other solutions... anyone???

Thanks. I've got Acrobat somewhere at home... but it is several revs behind. I wonder if I'll run into trouble...

I wonder why the State Dept. does it this way and USCIS does it another... kind of annoying and not user-friendly.

they do it this way for security reasons ,

if you update your acrobat it should work , if not you should be able to save the file on your documents

( thats what I did I saved it on documents then printed double copies off everything from the saved file before deleting it , it workd great ) good luck

you can download a virtual pdf printer (just type that into the search) and then when you want to print it, choose the virtual pdf printer and check off the box that says "print to file"...then you can save it....good luck, hope this helps...

You just have to upgrade your acrobat reader. I have 8.1 I believe and it allows you to save to disk.

I rooted around and turned up a version of Acrobat on my work system that did the job.
