Democrat-controlled California Senate approve a resolution supporting the May 1 "Great American Boycott 2006" by illegal immigrants

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Some Democratic state lawmakers are planning to walk off the job in California on Monday -- just as millions of others around the country are expected to -- in support of immigrants' rights.

The California Senate, controlled by Democrats, approved a resolution on a party-line vote supporting the May 1 "Great American Boycott 2006," which supporters say will serve as a warning to Congress to avoid punitive immigration changes.

[...]

"These immigrants are fighting to embrace this nation," said Sen. Richard Alarcon, D-Van Nuys. "What a good time this is when people can express their anger, their frustration, desires, hopes and dreams, all for the purpose of becoming American. That's a good thing."

Republicans voted unanimously against the resolution, saying it encourages lawlessness.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

This has been one of the hardest days of my life. I have been a loyal Democrat. When I saw this post, I called my state senator, a man that I have been in many meetings with, I tried to express my views to his staff. I asked to schedule an appointment with him...I was denied. I have just had a screaming fit when my adopted son asked me why today has been such a bad day for me. The bad part...he is Mexican-American. It ended up with me in tears, Emmie screaming her little head off cause Mommy was crying...and my son looking at me like I betrayed him. Why won't anyone listen? I don't hate anyone. But I can't stand missing my HUSBAND...while people that broke the laws of MY country are demanding rights that even I don't have. I don't know if I'm going to make it through this day.

"These immigrants are fighting to embrace this nation," said Sen. Richard Alarcon, D-Van Nuys.

Fool. They ain't immigrants! They ain't immigrants unless all of a sudden the simple sneaking across the border or overstaying one's welcome affords one such status. Or maybe it's stealing or faking some identities to take up unlawful employment that makes one an immigrant these days. Or maybe just working for cash under the table evading taxes makes it so. Or a combination of these things. Last I checked that wasn't so but the good Senator from Cali apparently knows something I don't. Asshat!

Calling them immigrants is like me kicking someone out of their house, moving in, and calling me the homeowner...
