Hi -

I saw the example format of the employer letter here on VJ as well as in the I-134 instructions. Quick question, other than using the company stationary, should I ask my boss to include his phone #, address, etc?

Thanks

Liz

I don't believe it is a need for your manager to include his information. The letterhead sheet should include your company's general information which should be more than enough.

Yes that ie what ours looked like.

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.

  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% or (100% for military) of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

Bank statements are used as assets. Assets are only valued at 1/3 income, so if income falls below 125% poverty line by 1000 then assets need to be 3000.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Grrrr! I just called the IRS number to get my transcript and it was like pulling teeth. The guy was such a jerk and basically is too lazy to send me a tax transcript. #######?? He asked me if I had my tax return and I do, but it's from a tax preparer and has a big watermark that says "COPY ONLY DO NOT FILE" and I just don't like that on there (we all know how picky the officers in this process can be). I'm not sure if copies are what I really want. I don't have anything else so I really would feel better with the transcript. I explained this to the guy exactly like that and he's like well you have a copy and that's the same info on the transcript just more info. He got all irritated when I repeated that I'd feel better getting a transcript and put me on hold. Wow!! That's our tax dollars at work AGAIN!! Just love it. I'm going to try again later or on Monday to get someone else. That was just uncalled for.

Anybody else have difficulty or hassled about getting a lousy transcript? Sheesh!

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

That's the next thing on my list...

I was wondering, would the copies of my TurboTax return be sufficient for the I-134?

I work at CVS pharmacy and I'm wondering if they had a cvs stamp and they stamped the letter it has address and stuff, is that good enough because the store manager doesn't have any company paper with the logo on it. He would only be able to use the stamp as a header and sign it. Has anyone else ever done something like this? should it be fine? Am I worrying for nothing? comment back please thanks!
