Anyone heard this one? American citizen (Born America). Married a Colombian lady in San Andres in Janurary. Went to Embassy in Bogota,Colombia to get k-3 packet, for wife and two children. Received I-130´s and datas biographic, Page 1 and 2 (front/back). No page 3 and 4. I have been in Colombia for 4 months. LADY AT FRONT GATE TELLS ME I MUST LIVE IN COLOMBIA FOR 6 MONTHS BEFORE I CAN DO A DCF. I will stay until we get visas. Gives me a card to call Embassy to get instructions. Any thoughts out there?

DCF does not produce a K-3 visa, it produces a CR-1 visa in your case (since you've been married less than 2 years). And yes, there is a residency requirement --- both of you need to live in the consular district and be able to prove legal residence there (which usually does not apply to folks on tourist visas).
