Hello everybody,

I am excited to share with you that my wife's interview has been scheduled on April 21. Now I am concerned about AP/AR. Is it true that every interviewee must go thru security check ? I saw some applicants got their visa in the same or next day and some applicants got AP/AR. what causes them to get AP/AR? Please share your knowledge/expereince. That would help me a lot. Thnaks

Usually, they don't put female applicants on AP/AR. My wife got the visa right away. But no one can guarantee whether your wife will be on AP/AR or not. You have to just wait and find out.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

From my exprience (wife from Iran). If your wife does not work, she will very likely will not be put on AP. Your best bet is to search VJ for your country and see the time lines. I found out in case of Iran all males are put on AP, most females that has worked in Iran are put on AP.
