it is only a crime when you wake up and notice 3 large bags of fritos and salsa are gone as well as, a box of moon pies

It's like one of those silly whodunit games. hahahaha.

Where did my moon pies go? The box is still here....so are the wrappers....but the moonpies are gone. There's a bunch of frito crumbs on my pants and salsa down the front of my shirt. There must have been a struggle. I don't remember a thing and I feel all groggy. Hmmmm.

It's the stable boy. It's always the stable boy. Unless it's the butler or the really hot chick who's been hitting on all the guys. Maybe it's the butler who also cleans the stables and sometimes dresses in drag?

I know the topic has kinda morphed here, but this original topic really didn't surprise me much. More surprising is the number of people they let out of jail to make room for more serious criminals.

This is a true story. Several years ago in Houston a Federal judge ruled that Harris county jails were overcrowded. The county released scores of county prisoners in mass to comply with the Federal ruling.

I can't remember the numbers, but several released prisoners commited new crimes within several blocks of the jail and were rearrested / rejailed within hours of their release.

What's the point of this story? Some people are habitual criminals and societal disfunctionals that cannot be rehabilitated. At some point these people get warehoused indefinitely as habitual criminals.

No...not everyone redeemable or "victims" of overzealous prosecutors. Some people must be segregated from society at large for the overall good of society. I don't lose any sleep over it or feel pity, compassion, or empathy for their plight.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
