Hey All, well today is day 30 since filing the service request. According to them my case should be assigned to an officer no later than today, which is probably #######. When I called yesterday it was not assigned yet so I dont think I will call again today because they will just apologize for not doing it by their "target date". September will be six months since we filed so hopefully they will just forget about the EAD at this point and just give us the interview or green card.

On another side note...I have been fortunate so far I guess to always have nice and knowledgable people on the USCIS hotline when I call. Well yesterday that all changed because the people were absolutely clueless and rude telling me they had no authority to check if my case had been assigned when 5 other people before them had done it within the past few weeks. :bonk:

Hello Everyone!!! Got my interview scheduled on OCTOBER 10, 2008 in LA.

That's so cool. Mine is 10 days after you. USCIS still not update online. Mine I-485 last update was 4/2/08 and My wife got an interview letter in mail yesterday.

There is a whole list of documents we need to bring to the interview. I have a question regarding the I-693 (medical). we submitted the I-693A (supplement) when we filed the AOS. Does anyone have to do whole medical again before the interview? We did not have any touch or RFE since BIO.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I don't think we need to go for another medical. Once is enough. Just bring the copy of your medical result that was given to you. That is the color green form. Just incase they ask.

I am preparing the requirments they need right now. Hopefully nothin is missing.

:)

thanks.

Malakas

Hello Everyone!!! Got my interview scheduled on OCTOBER 10, 2008 in LA.

Congratulations!! The end is finally in sight for you and your interview date is on my birthday! I'm very happy for you

Maybe you could give them a good swift kick in the butt or bonk them over the head and ask them what they did with my file (and a few others that seem to have disappeared)?? :bonk:;)

Sure will. But before i do that... i wanna make sure got the greencard already :P

Well, I haven't posted in a while but wanted to drop a line so people know there are others out there...

I received my EAD and AP in mid-June, since then nothing from USCIS....I went to an infopass in mid-August and they told me my file is still in Missouri and they have no idea when it will be sent to Chicago for the interview...

I have been waiting eagerly for this to end, as all of us have, but this ridiculously long process is going to end up costing me thousands of dollars because I just entered a graduate program in a state school and I had until September 30 to present evidence of in-state residency to be charged in-state tuition. Obviously that is not going to happen. I also cannot take out federal loans without the GC. In other words, USCIS really did some damage...

But at this point I'm just reaching the point of apathy...I simply don't expect anything anymore...

One question: how do people typically contact their congressperson/senator? E-mail? Letter? In person?

Thanks and hang in there everyone!

I called the help line recently and was told (by an actual immigration officer) my wife's file is still in Missouri also. In one month, it will be 6 months since she filed for AOS. She has received her EAD and AP but has not been scheduled for an interview date. Does going to an Infopass appointment help with moving this process along, or do people who have gone find it is just a waste of time?

I forgot to add that a service request was issued for my wife's file over one month ago and we have not received any update. I am wondering why they issue this request if they do nothing to investigate. Is this just a ploy to get people to stop calling or is it really a worthwhile procedure?
