Yeah I think our stuff was just lost somewhere collecting dust and once we were able to place the service request they finally had to go and look for it, found it and decided about it. So since you placed service request for your EAD you will hopefully hear something soon too :D

Hi my friends!!!

I finally got GOOD NEWS...TODAY I received our I-485 appointment letter, YAY!!!:dance: It is scheduled for September 12th in San Francisco.

NOTE****DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING USCIS TELLS YOU.

It was strange, but TODAY I called USCIS to follow up on my husband's case (and today I received the interview). I told him there was no activity since our biometrics appointment. He said they were currently working on files from NOVEMBER 2007....ANNNDD (the big fat liers) said they NEVER skip anyone, and that they go in the order they receive the documents...LOL...sure buddies, I did not disagree and went along with the guy. I told him I changed my address last night online, and that I wanted to know if a notice or an interview had been mailed since I would be moving out this weekend. HE SAID NO, there was nothing new in our case. SO, POINT PROVED AGAIN. USCIS help line is USELESS. They did not know of our appointment being set.

Anyways, I just want to give you all hope and DO NOT believe what they tell you. Best of luck to all of you....and I will stay around to give you updates....

Congrats on the recent GC's and interviews...

For us, it's getting so DEPRESSING...nothing yet....absolutely no activity on our I-485...no touches, nothing...our file is dead. I'm starting to seriously worry...are there more of you out there like us...???

I think there's heaps of blokes out there who are in the same status as we are. May the force be with us!!!

You are certainly not alone in your journey. I had not received any updates since the biometrics appointment back in April, so I decided to call and find out what was going on. When I called the USCIS phone number and entered my case number, I was told we had been sent a RFE. When I spoke with a live person, they could not tell me if an RFE had been sent or not. They said nothing was showing in their computer.

I never received an email from CRIS or anything by snail mail, so I have no clue at this point what is going on, or if or when one was sent. The USCIS rep. submitted a form to find out what was going on but stated it could take up to 30 days. Looks like this process is going to take 6 months or more just like our K1 visa approval.

Anyone know how long it takes for them to find out what is going on with your case after they submit the request for investigation????

Hi there, I would not worry. It appears there is a glitch, and many people get that recording. I even got it when I used to check the status of our I-130. When you call, using the RFE line (path)...it will tell you that you have an RFE....but you really dont. We never got one with our I-130...

Hello YG and MAT,

Do you have any update on your case? at least a transfer or touch???

i don't have anythin on my case.

Hello all...

Long time no post but just wanted to let you know that we had our 130/485 interview this morning. The woman we met with was very nice. Here's a gist of the interview process in case some of you, like I, were wondering how it went:

- Arrived

- Were called in (both my wife and I together).

- Officer introduced herself and put us under oath.

- We went through our package and she verfied some of our answers

- Asked for additional documentation that we lived together (provided bank statements/lease)

- Asked for employment letter. I provided the same one I had submitted with the application.

- Asked me to step out so she could speak to my wife (my wife is the one sponsoring me)

- Called me back in after 5 min or so and asked me the same questions...they were along the lines of where we met, when we got married, parents/sibling names...all pretty straight forward.

- She told us that she believed our marriage was real and that she was approving me for conditional residence.

- Said a card would be arrive within 3 weeks and to call if not....hopefully no issues will arise with this.

- Provided a "conditional residence is approved as of today" piece of paper

- Gave us some info on the removal of conditions (after 2 years) and citizenship (if desided...after 3 years).

Best of luck to all of you moving forward. I know it feels like a long process but it's just a waiting game. Keep your head up and you'll be there soon.
