AOS FILERS - March 2008

Is there anyone else still waiting for their EAD? We still haven't gotten ours. I'm getting nervous they forgot about it. We had an RFE (2 actually) and I'm afraid they never told the person who put the EAD on hold to start processing it again. I picture it in a dark room at the end of a hall that no one goes down sitting in a pile with other forgotten files.... and it has cobwebs on it.

I havent gotten my EAD....our filing date is March 24th. I know Scott and Marta havent either and their date is even earlier than ours. Maybe we're all on the same desk. Its nice to know none of us are alone worried that our applications are in the trash. I live in New Jersey and my senator's office was really eager to look into the application so I hope that provides some results. We're on like day 120 or something. Last touch I got was 6/23/08....then nothing...and no RFE's.

For the AOS interview it says to bring everything (original and copies) is that including our marriage certificates, passports, birthcertificates? Are we to make copies of them so the Gov. dont keep all of that during our AOS interview? Even though they have all of that from when we paid the $1010 and mailed off ALL that stuff back in March? Anyone else have any ideas on what else to bring that we may not be thinking of ?

We still cant even see the I485 online, thats probably most frustrating!

Frustrating also is, when I call USCIS in the middle of July demanding at least some info about my AP and EAD cuz I don´t even dream about asking about my GC yet since it´s been so long and I still don´t even have an AP and EAD, and they tell me they can´t help me cuz they are currently working on APs from November 2007 Yeah right Fortunately after them being stubborn for like 15 minutes I made them transfer me somewhere else, where they at least let me place a service request for the AP. Not for EAD cuz that´s waaay too early they said

DON'T lose hope, you'll get some good news before you know it!! Just hang on a little while longer....I know it can be very stressful wondering whats going on and even more fraustrated when you don't have an answer to why your case is taking so long, and even more depressed when people who filed after you are getting approved.Remember they say "good things come to those who wait"!! I Just wanted to lift your spirits up a bit and to let you guys know you are not alone....

Just hang on you'll see!

Thank you SO much. Its so nice to have support I definitely haven't given up its just frustrating thats all. Since I got a touch on 6/23 I know that its not like its lost its that its just taking longer to process. It only makes it a little bit better but its better than nothing.

It's bittersweet knowing there are others. I like the company but I hope we all get ours soon. Keep us updated on how everything goes with your senator.

I can't even figure out what day I'm on, do I count the RFEs?

I almost forgot to check the USCIS website this morning but remembered at the last minute and still nothing on the EAD and AP but screw that because...

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Card production ordered.

I never expected that. I was ready for the long wait and was just impatient about not getting the EAD yet.

Maybe that's why nothing ever happened with the EAD? So cheer up my fellow vjers without EADs perhaps the USCIS just isn't wasting time producing things you won't need? My fingers are crossed for you guys!

Beejay congrats!!! This is a great news, it means that I shouldn't get discouraged either about not getting my EAD, if it takes long it doesn't mean that AOS will take long too!

Congratulations beejay!! I'm so glad someone's gotten some good news!

I called USCIS last Friday (it's been a few weeks since my last call) and was told that our case is at NBC and there are no RFE's (I asked if there was an RFE causing the delay and I just hadn't gotten an email or snail mail) and was given the same "song and dance" as last time.."They are currently processing Oct 2007, so your case is within normal processing times and don't worry...the EAD & AP can be extended if need be." Since we filed in mid March, we won't be outside of normal processing times until the website says they are processing mid April of 2008.

And as usual..no touch was generated
