Called USCIS again. They told us lotsa new #######. They must have a manual of crappy things to say cuz they always come up with something new :P So the first person couldn´t find the AP in the system again but to EAD she said it didn´t matter that according to their website they were supposed to be working on applications from end of March and we sent our stuff before then. They only count business days and bla bla bla and for EAD we should hear a resolution on July 29 (in 130 days instead of 60? :P) or sooner. For the AP we were transferred onto another person who said he couldn´t do anything about it cuz we were only 7 days out of processing times and we should wait 30 days before we can place a service request or something but better wait 45 days instead of 30. (What the heck? It´s just a freaking AP not even a GC :P) Was told we could copy the NOA1 and send them a letter about it. Sounds like why the heck would that help?, but might as well do it. For AOS they said it should take 185 days for a decision so we can still wait a couple of months for that :P

You sure are taking this in stride

I feel bad for the people on the phone since they can't really say much and I'm sure they can't us EVERYTHING about our cases even if they can see it. At the same time don't patronize people with those silly USCIS manual answers

Schedule an Infopass for next week and speak to someone face to face.

question about AP...

I received it in the mail last week and noticed that on the lower left corner of the AP document my picture with a name above it that was not mine....it says "Robert M. Cowan"....was it supposed to say my name? There is also a signature above the name that is not mine....is this normal or did USCIS make a mistake on my AP?

Thanks!

I got the same and USCIS didn't make a mistake I believe. The name and signature that appears above the picture in the AP must be an authorized signatory from the issuing agency. That's what I believe. For as long as you got the right info at the topmost part of the form then you're good I suppose. Any thoughts from others?

Hey Everyone. Well, Scott+Marta unfortunately I found out the hard way that infopass appointments are NOT good for helping with the EAD. My husband and I drove an hour from Atlantic City to Mount Laurel New Jersey, walked in, got called right away and they said "I dont see anything wrong with your application. Some take longer than others and there isnt a reason for that, yours is one of the ones taking longer. Have a nice day". The only thing they did say was that we could write a letter to the chicago service center to request service which I intend to do. I just thought that THEY were supposed to do something, but they said only if its at their local office and its in Chicago.

OH MY GOD!!! Okay, so I just posted that comment above and then I decided to check my case status online even though it NEVER changes and I got a touch on the EAD application on Monday!!! I dont know what that means but I do know that it means somebody at least looked at it! How long after a touch do you typically get approved?! Maybe today!!! Sorry I am very excited. And it cant be because of the infopass appointment because it was touched a day BEFORE that.

Yay!!!!
