AOS FILERS - March 2008

Guys.. got RFE in snail mail today... and guess what... they asked for the same taxes we sent already with first RFE!!!!!!!! We have no idea why they do all that with us!!!!!! + they told us that our Affidavit of support signature expired because we signed it 6 months ago! It is lie as we signed it 4 months ago!!!!!! So i guess you never will prove to UCSIS that you are not stupid... Just gonna sing new Affidavit and send same papers (Taxes) we sent before, but my husband is gonna attach letter saying that we already sent all that with 1st RFE in April.... AHHHHH!!! it is so stupid!!!!!!! can anyone explain me that????

Frustrating isn't the word, I am sure once they receive the information back that they will be ready to approve it. I will keep happy thoughts for you that it happens.

We had an AOS touch on June 17, June 19, and June 20th (yesterday)... What does all this mean? The status has stayed the same throughout and its the first touches we've had that hasn't changed the status... We've already got our interview appointment letter for July 22 back in May..

So what are the touches about?

Probably just preparation for your interview. I wouldn't worry too much.

Quick Question...when you apply for a Social after you have the EAD, is there anything written on the social like only valid with DHS authorization??

I included bona fide documents, pictures, written affidavits, bills in both names, etc and still waiting. No touches on my AOS since the beginning of April.

That is what mine says. Once you get the green card I believe you have to go to the Social Security office to get that changed.

If you use you EAD you will have that restriction

Yes, the restriction will still be written in your SS card. However, if you get your GC you can return to the SSA office and get an unrestricted SS card. Hope this helps.

I didn't send any pictures as proof of relationship for the AOS. We just sent the required documents stated in the application instructions. Based on my observation, it has became apparent that the speed of approval doesn't solely depend on the completeness of the submitted documents but a combination of a lot of factors. I hope this answers your question.

Welllllll... Today is day 90 and no EAD. Me and Scott+Marta are still in the same boat. I believe our NOA's are within a few days of each other too. So probably our files are on the same desk of a guy that isnt doing their job. I have an Infopass appointment on Tuesday. It seems like everyone here got their EAD pretty quick but if theres anyone who has ever been to an Infopass appointment and has any advice for me please let me know. Should I be professional? Emotional? Serious? Cry? I want to do whatever it takes to have them push for my case to be done. I know you have to bring the NOA's to prove when it was filed, but would it also be helpful to bring certified mail receipts and emails to our lawyer to show that he was incompetent and didnt complete our paperwork for 3 months? Cause that proves that "Technically" our "waiting" has been much longer than 90 days. Thanks everyone I'll let you know how it goes.
