Just got my EAD and my AP on the mail.

I was really happy.....but got really sad when I saw that the initial of my middle name on my EAD card was wrong

I just called them and now I'll have to file another I-765, and send it along with the card and a copy of any document showing my correct name....which is gonna be my SSN. Aiai.....it was all going so smooth....I needed the EAD to get an state ID or DL so bad right now....like opening a bussiness account and other things....uff...at least there's no fee.

But, I am happy...I'll just have to wait a little bit more

I called them again after checking a copy of the I-765 I sent and seems this was my mistake. What happened is that I removed a preposition (de = "of") from my maiden name (very common in Brazil) because here they take it as a initial ( I can't believe I didn't see that , after checking and re-checking). And seems that I wrote it on the form CdeCA instead of CCA and they put on EAD what it would be CDA for my initials. And what happens is if it's my faul they charge the EAD fee.....340 dolars...and takes about 3 months to get ready....(which I doubt, but I can't pay that) so....I will just try to go to DMV with this card and see what happens, after all....my A# is there and it's correct, my name on the sistem will probably be correct too.

You know I was thinking the same thing, why not just get your ID and your drivers license etc.

OK need alittle help here. Sent our AOS in March recieved rfe in mid April. They received my reply Beginning of May and my case was then transfered to CSC. This morning CRIS e-mail tells me it was tranfered to a local office so what does all of this mean. I have received nothing from them in the mail except the rfe and since we travel for my work I was wondering how far out any interview or biometrics appt. would be in general terms. Can anyone help with a little info or expected timeline here please?

It means that your case has been returned to your local office and that you will have your interview in your local office soon. Just wait for the letter from USCIS, I am sure they will send you the interview notice and be ready with your documents for the interview. Anyway, haven't you received any biometrics appointment notice previously? Just want to clarify. Good luck!

Yes, that's what happened to me. No touches..nothing. We got an email, then got the ap and EAD cards a couple of days later. No email/update that card production was ordered or anything. Just approval email.

Congratulations JillianShea! :dance: There's no definite time as to when you will receive the actual EAD card, in my experience it took 8 days after the approval date for me to receive it. For SSN card, under normal processing time approximately 2 weeks to a month maximum before you'll receive the actual SS card. I applied for a SS card name change last May 8 and still waiting for the replacement card to arrive in the mail. A little more patience and everything will be fine. Good luck to your future undertakings.

Yea!! Congratulations!!!

We got the approval email on the March 14th for the EAD card and got it in the mail on the 16th, but we never got the "card production ordered" email or any touches of any kind and still NO touches on the AOS. But it seems most people get the EAD card in about a week.

We got my husbands SS card 3 weeks after application. We were told we could go back after a couple of weeks and they could tell us the number, but we just waited for the card which only took an extra week any way.
