i just have a question that maybe some one can give me answers..

say, we're already in california...got married and got an SSN and applied for a job....whats then our IMMEDIATE status? immigrant? green card holder? what?

are there anybody here whos a foreign nurse and planning to work as one when they get to u.s.?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. If someone is on a visitor/work visa or they did not need a visa to visit and goes to California, gets married, etc. They are still considered on their visa status. They can apply for AOS and will have to prove that they did NOT enter the country with the intent to stay*. If it is denied, they will have to leave the country when their original visa expires and then apply for a spousal visa. I'm not sure how they would get an SSN in that case (I don't know how work visas work).

*edit-I mean they have to prove they did not intend to get married.

I believe shes is asking what happens to us specifically - K1 holders. Adjustment of Status, which we are required to file in order to work, gives us a two-year conditional green card, does it not? So I guess that would make us green card holders.

If we don't file Adjustment of Status within the 90 days, we're out of status - does that mean we can technically be deported? I've always been curious...

125% of the poverty line. Dependents are taken into consideration in determining poverty levels. There is a schedule I saw, I'll look to see if I can dig it up again.

No problem Dave, don't worry about the interview, as long as you've got the affidavit of support, some additional proof of a on-going relationship, and your SO has all her things done there should be no problem. Getting denied at the interview is a very rare thing - I've only seen it happen a couple of times in the last year, and usually for documentation issues. You'll be just fine, I'm sure of it.

I am 100% sure that we have our documentation and some. I am caught up in a bind because my girl wants me to be with her and her family when she leaves, but if I go then I might hurt myself by missing school a the university and put my boss in a bind.

Just don't know what to do. I have such hard decisions to make.
