Someone is working backwards :S

We had a July approval which was way out of the current processing speed - that'll drop us back temporarily. I cruise Igor's list about 5 times a day and I hate it when I go backwards on the list - simply due to people joining who have already filed. I know it doesn't mean anything for my own processing (they've already filed...get it Blake?) but I still feel like someone's cutting into the line.

Then there's the people who join VJ when they get their NOA2 - which really messes up my math - I see an approval, but I stay in the same place in Igor's listing - again, not fair!

The thing that I have to remind myself is that approvals usually can occur for anyone around #70 on the list (the magic number as i've been told), so I'm really not as bad off as I think. Right????

I meant I would think that Alex would do that guest list for his family, and you would do yours. Bryan seems willing to choose who is going to come from his family.

Maybe "I really have no idea right now, but I'm going to think of it" would be better than "I don't care" ;)

Yes - you're right! Argh! If only I had a firm wedding date. :)

Alex is fairly flexible re. wedding guests - I'm sure he'll decide who to invite amongst his friends/co-workers but I think his mother will be organising the family invites. Her side of the family is rather large and if you invite one you have to invite them all. But that's okay because I've met his mother's family and they are all awesome and friendly people. Not a single person amongst them who might be the embarrassing/drunk/badly dressed guest. We're very lucky!

Blake - NO you are not badly off! Positive thinking, people! I won't allow any negativity in here ;)

Thanks for keeping me in line. I haven't had a good rant in a long time, so I'll let you know when I do. The sun is shining today which always puts me in a good mood, so the rant will have to wait.

Haha! Rants are fine - I'd be a big, big hypocrite to say otherwise - but as your fellow filers we have the right afterwards to :bonk: and tell you not to worry. I'm feeling unnaturally cheerful and positive today. When that changes and I'm all moody again, you, of course, have the right to do the same to me. :)

That's good, i guess. I haven't met everyone yet... only his parents and some of the uncles and aunts. and his friends of course.

Yes let's all stay positive! it's still too early to rant anyway. If we start now, time will seem to go too slow and we'll continue to rant, and that's a never ending story :P

Ooops, I've already had a couple - I think the first 30 days are the hardest (says the guy who filed 60 days ago) I'm sure that when I get to day 120 I'll rethink that one as well. I'm quite happily oblivious to time's passing right now, but I'll give you fair warning when that's going to change.

Well...her family is Alex's too! But she's drawing up the guest list for her side of the family.

She says that is why she wants to do a pot luck wedding, so that everyone can be fed at little cost to ourselves. I'm a bit concerned about how they'll squeeze 50-70 people into their house, though!

She's sent me an e-mail full of questions (what type of cake? Music? Flowers?) and I almost want to send one back saying 'I don't care!' :P

Cheers to you girl! 428.gif I admire your self control. If it was me..... well, i think I will just bite my tongue right now

She is probably thinking she is doing you a great favor by taking over the planning since she feels you can't do it because you are still in the UK and of course that is probably a blessing since you will have lesser things to worry... but i do hope you will be able to tell her what you really want to happen on your wedding and just how many people you want there. After all, it is still your wedding... and i also hope your FMIL will not get carried away with planning and then end up doing everything the exact way she wants it.
