Thank you so much, all of you guys. This has been very confusing and very difficult. I don't know what has happened and can only really speculate at this point. There is not much I can do but wait for some answer some day. Olga is not "flighty" or capricious, nor have I ever seen any action at all on her part that would lead me to think she is in any way manipulative. So a disapearance is bizarre and not like her. The fact is that she lives with her father and he is not at the apartment either, and hasn't been for weeks now.

I have more questions than answers, I do not understand anything. The children start school tomorrow in the Ukraine and if no one is at the apartment then I cannot help to think that she is gone and not coming back. But I don't know anything, like I said.

We all started this journey a year ago, and at no step of the way was this easy. I am so happy that everyone has been successful in at least getting together. My journey still has a ways to go, I'm thinking, and although I'm not sure how it is going to end, I know I'll keep moving. You give your spouses an extra hug tonight, cherish each of your moments. Love you all.

Blake

Rachel, my heart goes out to you as well. (F) ... I hope alex and his dad will be able to find work soon, the economy is really bad now and going through immigration with the expenses needed don't help at all but you are right, you will be able to get through this.... WE will all get through this!

Same time last year, we were still starting the process and drawing courage and strength in the hope of being with our love ones soon.... now, majority of us are married and are with our love ones, BROKE but at least we are with our love ones... Ricky and I, have encountered financial challenges one after another since we got here and we just finally saved up enough to submit AOS tomorrow (a good $2210 + other AOS related expenses :crying: ). Me and the kids have been out of status since December 3rd. They said it is ok and I don't have to worry since there is no time limit in filing AOS and I won't have problem even if it will take us longer to file but I just couldn't risk my kids not having legal presence here any longer so Ricky and I had to tighten our already tight belt just to save more for AOS. (I read about Valsu's case in effects of family subforum... it may or may not be true but still...)

I believe things will eventually get better and same time next year, we will all recall how we all struggled financially at the start of our marriage and while still going through AOS... this may be trying times for majority of us but this will draw us closer to our spouses. It will be good to someday look back to this hard times and just smile... We will all pull through coz this too shall pass...

I am glad January '08 CSC filers thread is still alive, most of the VSC people have probably finished with the whole AOS process save for StephnRia who have just gotten her visa after a long, troublesome visa journey; HerolMounia who just had her visa interview last month (they were the last VSC filer to be approved, november 08); and one VSC filer who sadly had to go back to her home country a month after her wedding :(

I guess we all struggled in different ways, most of us financially, some emotionally, some had to give up the relationship they have fought for... Every now and then, when I feel homesickness hitting hard; when our financial situation gets to tight and the bills just make me want to gobble up a bottle of pain medicine; when individual differences causes the "li'l discussion" and make me want to question why I am here and why I have even gotten married at all when I had been ok being a single mom for 8 long years, I simply had to think about all the others whose visa journey has come to a painful end and I just thank God that no matter how hard the going gets for me and ricky, at least we are still together and still holding on, learning about each other, making adjustments for our individual differences, and loving each other more and more each day... and I guess that is more than enough to be truly thankful for.

I will borrow Blakes line: Let's give our spouses an extra hug tonight, let us cherish each moment we have with them. ((((HUGS))) to all of you.

Thank you for e-mailing Blake, Cecile!

Blake, I am so sorry to hear what has happened. I pray you get some kind of answer soon; the not knowing what is going on must be the worst of all. :((F)

I am always hugging Alex; I know that no matter what happens, we are together, and I am VERY grateful for that.

dbears - that is great news about HerolMounia! I had lost track of the VSC filers thread and was wondering what had happened to her.

Today is Alex's first day as an unemployed man, but he has already applied for three jobs and I am confident that he can find one soon. We still may have to move back into his parents' house, but if we do, we do.

Also, his mother has been a brick and has been finding out information for us and has also put me in touch with a lady who, if I can prove to do good work for, has offered to help me find employment when I have my EAD.

Oh, hey.. it's been awhile since I've interjected with anything here. :P

I know it's been mentioned already, but Sunny, I absolutely adore that avatar of yours, haha. I could never be so brave as to do snow angels in my wedding dress, so kudos to you! :P Also, congratulations on the new addition. ;P

Alex - The pictures from your wedding look so wonderful, and that cake looks positively delicious. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time, financially, at the moment. It seems that everyone seems to be going through a lot of money problems these days, and it's especially difficult on those who are just trying to embark on a new life with their spouse. One thing I've heard all my life is that some of the greatest times a married couple has together are when they were just starting out and were completely bogged down by financial stress. So, while it may seem tough now, you'll eventually come out of it, and through the difficult time, you two will just continue to strengthen your love, so.. keep positive thoughts. :D It's nice to hear that you have back-up plans, should things not go the way you'd hope, though.

Blake - I don't know all the facts about the situation, but from what I've been able to read here, all I can really say is.. that I'm truly sorry. I hope one day you'll have the answers that you seek, because you truly deserve them. You seem like a very patient and understanding guy, and it breaks my heart to hear that you've been going through such a hard time. I'll continue wishing for nothing but the best for you.

I'm glad to hear everyone else seems to be doing relatively okay. I hope all goes well with your driver's test, Pam - some of those guys can be real jerks on some sort of lame power trip. :/

The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death,

So I'll give you a sec to catch your breath.

There you go Rachel. I know the unemployment situation is rough, however, with you two supporting each other I am sure that good things will come. I know money has always been a concern so I am really hopeful the situation turns around in a positive way soon.

Sunny, you rock girl!

We'll all be ok, no matter what. As long as we remember to keep breathing.....

Hi guys!

I passed my driving test yesterday.....and successfully passed!!!!:dance:

I cannot wait to have it.....more because I can use it as an ID, and I won't have to show my passeport everytime I go to the liquor store, or buy a drink!! :D

Rachel, I wish you good luck for you and your husband in finding a job! or to everyone else in the same situation!

I also hope to look behind in a year, and think of this period as a temporarly bad moment (I mean only financialy, because at least I am with my husband!)

Blake, it is great to see you back in this forum....we all miss you so much!!

You got it right shes. You need to have your EAD card in order to have your driving licence.
