Congrats Cécile!!! You were approved very fast!!!

My AP was approved and I'm still waiting for EAD...

I also want to start driving so I can't wait to have my EAD!!

I also like to stay at home but not that much though... me, my dream is to have a very well paid part time job. I'm a morning person so I don't mind working in the morning and relax in the afternoon! That would be awsome!! :P

Thanks both :D I went to Hilo Hatti (a tourist like store) and got some things for both my daughter and my sister's son... got some typical Hawaiian clothes for them and for my daughter I also bought some Hello Kitty things, such as a t-shirt, charm and a towel... she likes Hello Kitty a lot and since it was all Hello Kitty but brown and wearing a Hula skirt and stuff, it is kind of Hawaii related :D

Good choice!

Congrats to Cécile and Lucie on your approvals! ;)

I saw only yesterday that I got approved for my AP, but more important for my EAD!! I am so so happy! :D

I totally understand you Court. Only having one of us working is not so easy; especially with Christmas here! So I just cannot wait to get back to work.

In a way, I feel lucky because I know I will have a job as soon I receive my card.

I am hoping you will have your "Christmas miracle" as well. (F)

Good luck to you, to Lucie and to the other ones waiting for their papers to move on!

I just received my Employment Authorization Card! Tomorrow I'll go get a driver license! (I don't care about the work part, I just want my license right now )

Also, it's strange because I had a feeling I would receive it in the mail today. Maybe I'm psychic!

I just came back from the DMV and it was indeed very easy. It took 5 minutes. She just needed the paper that shows I passed the tests, my EAD and my SSN. I'll receive my driver license by mail in a couple of weeks. I have a 60-day temporary driver license (just a piece of paper) that I can use meanwhile.

However it isn't perfect. Apparently since the paper from the driving exam center has my maiden name on it (not sure why they put my maiden name btw...) they had to put my maiden name on the driver license. I can come back and change it when I receive the DL (and pay a fee of course)

I knew it wouldn't be all perfect.

Ahh! That sucks for the fee! I remenber my husband also had to pay a fee for the change of his last name.

I didn't do anything yet for my DL, so I started to read the book again, and practice with some free tests online.

I am not too concern about the written test, but more about the driving part, especially with snowy roads now!

Otherwise, like many, I received a 2nd e-mail saying they ordered my EAD.....I hope it will be here soon!!

I think I will just keep my maiden name on the DL until it expires (next December). As long as I can drive with it it will be fine. And if someone gives me trouble because the name isn't my married name, I can still show them my EAD, or my Green Card when I am approved.

I have never driven on snowy roads in my entire life! So far it hasn't been too bad here, but I can totally understand your fear for the driving test! (or for every other type of driving on snow, not just for the test :P)
