Greivin and I hope to have a second house in Costa Rica. We want to be able to spend a month or two out of every summer down there. We know it's asking a lot from a job, but that would be in a perfect world.

Try to get internet jobs or something similar so you can work from all over the world... it is what me and my wife (I like that, no more 'fiance' hehe) will do later on also after I get my greencard..

I already know that I will be working for a webdevelopment firm in LA while I stay on Hawaii and do my job (or wherever I want to do it as I can do it all over the world as long as I have internet access.. and yes, I can not work as of yet coz of the EAD but the job is certain) and my wife is currently doing some nursing, is in home rentals and has a carehome.. she will then have to give up the nursing but the rentals and carehome can just continue (the rentals will be handled by someone else for a small fee, a bit like appointing a manager or something and same with the carehome). She will then be able to come with me to NL for a while every year without any problems.

So yeah, we kinda expect to buy a house in the Netherlands in a couple of years (we might have to sell one of our current houses (ok, theyre her houses but yah, since I am married now and all its more fun to say our houses hehe) so we can pay for the new place at once and have no issues with the banks in NL (can be a ###### since we dont work or live in NL), or we can just refinance (but yeh, then we still have to pay for mortgage and stuff, I don't like that much haha, I rather sell a house here, buy one in NL and keep at least half of the selling money from the Hawaii house on our bank for other purposes lol), after I got residential status in the US and will then be flying back and forth between Hawaii and the Netherlands (and making sure we will be at least 185 days a year in the US).

Oh well, it is, of course, all kinda depending on how things go in the future.. who knows what the AOS will bring us, or what marriage itself will bring us... we might decide not to do anything at all or even not being able to do this.. it is just how the plans/thoughts are as of now and, yeah, I know, especially since it might take a few years, there is a fair chance that these things will remain thoughts and become dreams, especially in the current economics.

Time will tell but I do believe we all should be able to do a similar thing, just dare and live your dreams :)

Hi there!

Congratulation Steph and Gareth!I'm really happy for you! :)

I went to my biometrics appointment yesterday! It was in a weird dangerous suburb of Denver. I felt like I was in a bad ghetto gangster movie, with cops everywhere! weirdly it didn't make me feel safe...Anyway, once there, I was expecting to see a big official federal building, but no! It was in a shopping mall. It was tiny, only two girls were working there and one security guard. Of course, there were nobody else than me. So it took 2 minutes to get everything done ; ) They just put a stamp on my appointment letter and that's it! I am worried though because at the DMV they told me that they should give me another NOA after biometrics so I can get my licence. But they didn't give me anything, and they didn't seem to know anything about NOA, or about USCIS or about anything... <_<

Do you think we receive another NOA after biometrics from USCIS?

Congratulations on your reunion, sunny! :D

Man oh man 2 more sleeps! Haha I am gonna be a mess tomorrow I reckon with excitement!

I told Gareth we will plan a trip to the UK in 2010. I really want to make it a priority we got back every other year to visit family and friends there....most likely tax return will cover this every other year haha. He seemed super pleased about it as I know he is getting sad leaving his family and friends and only life he has ever known!

Are any of you thinking of when you will get chances to visit "home" ?

2010 for me, too. Although it is my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary next summer, so if by some miracle I had my greencard by then, had time off whatever job I hopefully have, and have the air fare I'd try to be back for that. My parents and two of my siblings should be able to visit me next winter on their way back from New Zealand (they're planning a three-month-long holiday there with a view to emigrating themselves) so I imagine I'd then spend Christmas 2010 in England with them. Like Cecile says, I don't want to go back too soon, either.

Hey guys!!!

OMG just some more days and Gally and I we will fly finally to Chicago!

Tomorrow I'll cut my internet and cellphone. Wednesday at the morning the movers come, at the afternoon i'll give my key back to my landlord and at the evening Gally and I we will sleep at a hotel to the airport.

Then, Thursday morning we have our flight!!!

I'm excited, stressed etc!

In our case we got 2 brown sealed envelopes, one for me one for Gally.

Thank you Cecile for your sweet comment :)

Sunny, for us travelling back to France will be often and asap 'cause Gally has to visit her dad.

So, we will ask to expedite our AP 'cause I got a court order about Gally's visits to her dad. I hope it will work fine.

Hugs and kisses to you all

Congratulations! So close now - you must be so excited!

Good luck with expediting your AP. I can only imagine what a hassle transatlantic custody settlements must be.
