Yet another beginning of the month worry about money and accommodation.

Flight prices are already rising and I have no doubt they'll continue to do so what with the price of petrol these days.

I'm still planning on looking after my friend's cat this summer and staying in her empty house for six weeks. After that...well, I was sorely tempted to ring up my parents and ask if I could live with them for a month or two. Heh - they'd then have five of their six children back at home! :P (Well, four, since my brother will be returning to university in September). Chance to spend more time with my family, see old friends...and hopefully save on food/rent costs.

The only problem is I wouldn't be guaranteed work. However, if I could find temping work that'd probably pay more than my current job, so maybe it's worth taking the risk.

I don't know...this is all a moot point anyway as I haven't even spoken to my parents yet and they may not necessarily relish the idea of having another child back at home...

Blake- I think either would look great! But then again I am not good at making my mind up hence the reason I have two dresses to wear and one is white and one is ivory :P Win-Win!

Blake, don't always trust everyone who says that if she has a light skin she can't wear white. I hesitated a lot too, because my skin is white (my mother says my legs look like the legs of a dead body, hopefully the rest of my body isn't as white!) I ended up trying both white and ivory dresses and both colors were nice. White didn't make me look like a ghost. My skin is white, my hair is dark. I chose white because the dress I ended up choosing was only in white, but I'm sure ivory would have looked good too.

Did she find a dress that she liked? i'd say she needs to try both colors if she can, to see if really there is one that she can't wear.

The medical went smoothly. MissYoko, I chose Dr Slattery, He was nice, he checked my vaccines, checked my size (and apparently I'm 2 centimeters taller than when I last checked!!!!!!!!! I don't know if he messed up, but starting of now, this is my new size :P), my weight, blood pressure, eyesight, etc. Then I went three streets further to do the blood test, and on my way back to the doctor's office, I went to do the x-ray. So far, everything is good, but I'll have to go back there tonight (or later) to get the results of the blood test, and he will give me everything for the embassy. it took an hour and 15 minutes.

Then I went shopping :P

yeah the flight prices rising suck :S Even though I have enough money to afford a ticket in the middle of the summer vacation, I would prefer to save it for something else...

Going back to your parents' could be a good idea. Right now, I feel like July is my "farewell" month. I am trying to spend time with all the people I won't see anymore. I definitely look forward the two weeks or so that I will spend with my family. So, if they want you to come back, and if you think you could find temp work easily, I'd tell you to do it.

Good to know everything went well! I didn't know that you have to go back to the doctor's office to get everything back.

Well, I guess it is okay because I took an early appointment so I could go shopping after too!! :P

I agree on the flight prices during summer time!!

It is just crazy to see the different prices depending if you're leaving in August or September. My wedding is on early september, so I will fly out on August anyways.

Rachel, I think you should just ask them. They know into what situation you're into, and they are your parents, so I think they would be happy to help you out on your last months in England. :star:

You have to go back because it takes some time to get the blood results. They told me that I could come back whenever I wanted, even just before my interview at the embassy. But since I took my day off, and since I prefer to have everything prepared in advance, I will go tonight.

Yes, all in the same area. I had to walk less than 10 minutes to go to the lab for the bloodtest.

Well, 1m54 is my new size!

Aah, I'm a giant - 172.2 cm here, or 5'7 if you prefer!

Cecile, glad to hear the medical went okay!

And thanks for the feedback - I think you and Pam are right, and that it may the best thing to do (well, until I've spent a week there and then you'll hear me complaining about my allergies and my messy sister  ), so I think I'm going to be phoning my mother this evening.

My whole family's pretty poor at the moment, actually! (Part of that is my fault, as my dad's saving every penny he can for flights for everyone to the wedding). My sister just graduated university and left the house she was sharing last week. She was hoping to get back her deposit as she and a couple of the other girls she was sharing with had made an effort to leave it clean and tidy. Unfortunately one of her male housemates decided that on the last day he was going to smash windows and generally leave a mess everywhere for 'fun'. Well, there went my sister's and all her other housemates' deposit. I hope that somehow she manages to get money back off him but I have a feeling it's going to be hard to track him down...

Ok! thanks. I think I will do that too, because like you I prefer having everything organized in advance too.
