Hellow fellow January filers at the CSC. There are a lot of you out there, but I don't see many of you posting in the regular January filers thread. I don't begrudge the wonderful speed at which the VSC filers are being approved - Congratulations to all of them - but it points out how different the experience is for CSC filers vs. VSC filers. While the January thread is full of great news about approvals and touches, etc. we CSCers have our own issues to deal with. For myself, I know it is difficult to empathize with a January filer who voicing impatience with a process that is so much shorter than the one I am facing - it may not be "fair" that our processing times are so different, but its also not fair to rain on their parade or dismiss the concerns of the VSC filers. There is also the relevancy - when the CSC side is talking about approvals the VSC group will be talking about interviews or weddings.

So how are you doing? Are you frustrated, concerned, or excited? Knowing the wait that sits in front of you, how will you use the next 5 months. If you think this is a valuable thread then please add to it. Regardless of CSC or VSC, I hope we can all support each other on this amazing journey.

Like I said there are a lot of January CSC filers, I have listed them below (based on I-129f sending date).

Can you consolidate the January VSC filers too? I wanted to do it but I am afraid to see the list shrinking and shrinking and then I'd be the only one left.

While it may be true that VSC approval is so much faster than CSC, waiting for a VSC approval feels like waiting and hoping and praying that my lottery ticket hits the jackpot. Every draw bring your hopes up and then when the day is over, your hopes just come crashing to the ground... then another drawing day comes and it gets your hopes up again... this is what makes the process so frustrating. I don't feel bad for myself, I feel bad for VSC filers who have filed before me with no approval yet and to all CSC filers still waiting for NOA2.

But in spite and despite of everything, I am still holding on to God's promise that everything will be made perfect in His own time.... God is never too early nor too late.. He is always RIGHT ON TIME! ^_^

You are so right, that's the one problem with being in the VSC filing situation. The emotional rollercoaster must be very difficult, and one that I as a CSC guy don't have to worry about for awhile. Like you say, every day brings the hope that today is the day, and when it isn't, I can imagine the floor dropping out. Of course, if I had my druthers, I'd be in your shoes

I'll see what I can do for you on the January VSC filers list - but you are right, it seems to be shrinking every day. I counted 84 pre-January VSC filers going back to August yesterday, and I can only imagine what they are thinking with all the January approvals. Don't worry too much - you have the faith and you have the strength to get through all this. God never gives us more than we can handle. I hope and pray your approval comes very soon.

I totally empathize with all you CSC January filers.

It seems like everyone around us is getting approved from Vermont EXCEPT us. It would be so totally awesome if my fiance could get here before the summer. As of now I have no childcare for July and August, and that would solve a huge problem! But no... we wwill be one of those January filers whose applications go into limbo for months and months and months... I just know it :(

I'm hoping you'll all be eating hot dogs and potato salad together long before the 4th. There are a lot more January VSC filers than you might think. Obviously you'll see posts from those that get approved way fast, but also those (like me?) that spend a lot of time reading and contributing to the general discussions.

Thanks for checking in on everyone. From here on the west coast, yes I am feeling frustrated, concerned, excited... everything! I love tracking Igor's data as well, and it looks like the average days btwn NOA1's and NOA2's is staying around a nice 140 days or less. This helps keep me hopeful.

Good luck to all the other January CSC filers, and certainly those who have waited days, weeks, and even months longer than us!

For myself, I know it is difficult to empathize with a January filer who voicing impatience with a process that is so much shorter than the one I am facing - it may not be "fair" that our processing times are so different, but its also not fair to rain on their parade or dismiss the concerns of the VSC filers.

I'm not a January CSC filer, I'm a February...but I just had to put in my props to you for starting this thread. I keep feeling guilty when a VSC person complains about their timeline and I have to work hard to muster up sympathy. I don't begrudge them their fast timelines, I wish I could have one...but I know that I'm looking at two or three times their wait.

Now, I could empathize with what your feeling, i would probably be feeling the same way had we filed at CSC. I hope and pray that CSC will be able to clear all october filers and be able to kick in approvals for november, december, january and february soonest.

Wish all of you CSC filers a faster approval than what is normal with CSC.

God speed.

Good thread, Blake.

I think the most frustrating in that process is the speed difference between VSC and CSC. oh and the fact that they don't work on the petitions in the order they arrived.

Igor did a good job in separating CSC approvals and VSC approvals on his list. That way we see their approvals only if we decide to check.

That list is great, but sometimes (when I check it 10 times a day), I wonder if it wouldn't be better not to have anything like this. This way we would focus on other things. That way, time would seem to go faster. At the same time, what is the worst: not being able to know how fast/slow it goes or being able to see that they are not moving really fast? Finally I'm glad that list exists.

Even though, as I said before, the process is quite frustrating, since we still have several months to wait, it is very endurable. It makes me happy to see approvals from CSC, even though they are people who filed 2 or 3 months before us.

Last night I did the math. there has been 165 approvals since we filed (almost 2 months ago) and we are 170 on Igor's list. January approvals might start in 2 months. Of course, that is only an hypothesis and we are probably going to wait longer than that. I know I'll start being very upset about this whole process around May.

I know about doing the math stuff  When I first entered in my timeline info and I saw Igor's listing I was number 260 on the waiting for approval listing. It's been interesting watching the number go up and down as new people join. Now I'm at 200, but that doesn't mean I won't be at 210 tomorrow. Even though I realize that it doesn't make a bit of difference as to what my ultimate approval time is, I don't like it when my ranking goes down.

With all the waiting involved I've been thinking about ways not to let either myself or Olha to get depressed about all this. I want to redocorate the house - paint, drapes, new carpeting, and all that. Initially I was thinking that it would be good to do all these things before she arrived. I'm starting to think, however, that perhaps that is not such a good idea. I think having her spend time thinking about what she'd like to do, planning how she'd like things to look, and then actually working side by side with me to get it done, will not only give us both something to distract us for the next 6 months, but also give her that sense of immediate contribution to our new "family" when she is here. Once the fun of planning the decorating wears off, my next step is to encourage her to start shopping for her wedding dress, that should extend the good mood for at least another 45 days.

Anybody have any other ideas on how to help our SO's get through this as well?
