No Visa...No Tracking...No Move

I think it comes down to who ever is looking after ur case in Montreal!! Maybe that person is off for a few days, or has other personal appts, thus slowing down the release of the visa! Glad u got a response!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ok...still nothing...still not registered with Canada post...i will keep you posted....hopefully tomorrow (monday) something will happen.

03/06/2007- NOA1

06/06/2007-NOA2 APPROVED!!! Case Moved to NVC

O7/25/2007- Mailed in I864 Bill and Choice of Agent to NVC

08/06/2007-I864 forms were generated

08/17/2007-recieved and sent in I864 forms via priority post

08/06/2007-IV Bill was generated

08/18/2007-IV Bill was recieved

08/18/2007-IV Bill sent back via Priority Post

09/08/2007- recieved RFE for I864

09/10/2007- sent checklist for I864 back to NVC with further info

09/17/2007- NVC recieves the checklist for RFE

09/25/2007-recieved DS230 package from NVC

09/26/2007-NVC sends another RFE (AHHHH!!!)

09/27/2007- phone NVC and find out that the RFE is for my DS230...relief.

10/03/2007-sent DS230 via priority post

10/05/2007-DS230 is delivered to NVC

10/10/2007-DS230 is entered into the system

10/25/2007-Recieved RFE for DS230

10/31/2007-Returned RFE and new Police Report vis Priority Post

11/28/2007-CASE COMPLETE AT NVC

02/22/2008-Interview Montreal - APPROVED!!!

03/04/2008- Visa Arrives 11 days after interview.

03/05/2008- POE Toronto Pearson Airport

Hey Thanks...I'm kind of going a little nutty. The email they sent said "...will advice again" What the hell does that mean????? I hope they havent changed their minds!!! Can you imagine!!!

Don't go by Canada Post tracking site. In my opinion it's not very reliable. When I was tracking mine it wasn't showing on the tracking site and the day it did show as being entered in Montreal the mailman was at the door that morning with my Visa

I am looking at my time line and it took about 2 weeks for me to get my visa.

hey thanks...i know there shouldnt be any problem....i should get it this week....i really really appreciate being able to talk and vent with you all. it really helps having a support group. i will see what happens tomorrow...then tuesday....and so forth....hopefully i will have good news soon.

Yes, while Canada Post did get my Husband's visa here in record time, I believe I checked it the day before it arrived and it still said it was at the P.O. in Montreal.

ok just got another email from montreal saying my visa was issued on friday...still nothing with canada post but at least i know it is moving in the right direction....

so my magic 8 ball was wrong...today was not the special day. :angry:

stupid 8 ball.

hey all...

my visa showed with canada post last night but it was accepted early yesterday morning in montreal. i just called canada post and she told me it should have arrived today. well it didnt. i'm so upset now. tickets to florida have doubled after today...going to cost so much more now to fly once it does arrive. i'm so discouraged. i mean i know it's not the end of the world but it's just really trying my patience. sorry to vent...got nowhere else to really vent where people understand.
