It shows your ignorance that you think I have hatred in me for religion. I hate no one, I hate nothing. I do find ignorance scary though and yours is showing.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I guess it doesn't help that the person who wrote that poem appears to have been failed by the public school system. Reading that poetry is not unlike chewing up a mouthful of broken glass.

Almost as bad as Vogon poetry - but thankfully it was merely mediocre - so my lower intestine didn't leap up through my throat and attempt to throttle my brain.

The only thing I find scary is your obvious hatred of religion and anyone that bases their values on it. You have taken every opportunity to restate your opinion of religion and that shows your hatred. A person that doesn't hate would have just dropped it.

The poem promotes the moral/ethical worldview of a biblical literalist.

Quite a few people dislike churches or other religious institutions that advocate biblical literalism. It doesn't mean they dislike "religion". To suggest that it does implies that the only way to celebrate religion is through some form of fundamentalism. What about the folks with moderate religious views? Do they not count?

Everyone has the right to believe what they want. I do not put down or publicly berate others for their beliefs. For someone to constantly state their disdain for someone's belief system without provocation shows hatred. She can profess her lack of hate all she wants. All it does is prove it more. If she really wants to show that she doesn't hate the she should let it drop unless we are discussing it.

No it wasn't. She brought up human rights and the UN. I didn't see that in the OP. Also I wasn't participating in this thread. Her comment was directed at me even though I wasn't taking part in the discussion.

Everyone has the right to believe that the moon is made of green cheese. That doesn't mean others should not be able to say that its ridiculous. The Bible = Human Rights thing is one of those.

Doesn't equate to "hatred for religion". Believe it or not Gary - you don't represent all people with religious views. After all not every Christian believes that a Universal concept of human rights can be derived from the Bible.

Well, that's a separate issue which it seems you two need to discuss perhaps in PMs, but what I saw your posts addressing was her hate of religion, which IS what this thread is (kind of) about.
