So when I file and wait for I751, the green card expires I cannot travel out of states ... is that true?

That is crazy. then why would they tell you to file it w/n 3 months since it is going to take them more than a year to process everything.

That is not the case.... you can travel outside the US while you are waiting for your removal of conditions.... What happens is that after you file you will get a NOA that extends your Greencard for 1 Year... if you need to travel you just take your expired greencard and the extension letter and your passport....

Yes, I knew that too. Bring your expired green card and NOA1 (extension letter) with you when you go out of the country.

Kezzie,

Does it have to get a (551) stamp on your passport as well in this case? Or NOA1 & expired GC are good enough?

yeah i heard a lot of people saying that I am to go get my passport stamp in Chicago before traveling outside the states. Is the stamp neccessary or just NOA is okay?
