First off, thank you for everyone who has replied to all my previous posts. I had a question in regards to payment for the I-130. We don't qualify for DCF so we have to send the file to USCIS and were hoping to send it tomorrow since we have everything ready. As far as the payment goes, it clearly states that the money order or check needs to be drawn on a bank that is in the U.S. Unfortunately, I don't have open an account in the U.S. so checks are out of the question. As far as money orders go, the only bank that is in Canada and also one in the U.S. is HSBC. For those that have run into similar issues, I just want to double check if a US money order from HSBC would be acceptable.

Thanks again.

Hi ruriburi,

There are many Canadian banks that have U.S. banking operations and can provide you with a U.S. money order drawn on a U.S. account. I know TD does, i'm sure RBC and CIBC can do this as well.

I'm not familiar with HSBC at all, however, as long as the payment is drawn on a U.S. account it should be fine.

Congrats on getting your visa application underway!
